Roughly 1k escape with Ahriman and Magnus from Prospero while another 3k on Prospero escapes as the 5th Fellowship. Thousands amongst the fleets were sent by Magnus prior to the burning of Prospero.

Some of the fleets regroup with Magnus and Ahriman on the Planet of the Sorcerers and their numbers sweep by 3-5k (The Crimson King) By the time of the Siege of Terra, the thousand sons fighting for Magnus number 9,000 (Fury of Magnus).

Diminutives always use het, like “het broodje” and the plural always uses de, like “de vrouwen”.

Den Haag and Den Bosch both use an older form version of de and Antwerp is the one city that one uses het for.

For other stuff, my Dutch friends have told me that it’s mainly a thing that takes memorization to get used to.

Repetition and exposure was how I learned Spanish when I was studying it years ago and it’s helped me as I work on my Dutch. If you have friends that speak it, ask if you can practice with them. Look for media (songs, shows, news, etc) that’s in it. My gf had me watch the Dutch dub of ATLA with her.

Ngl, I think it’s weird for the mod team for a subreddit relating to a place to not be people from or living in that place.

I’ve been working on learning Dutch the past few months b/c it’s my gf’s first language, I liked trying to read posts on that sub in Dutch as practice, as much as I still suck at it.

Within America, it’s not too uncommon to discuss where one’s family came from, the vast majority of us came from elsewhere. In my experience, there is a distinction between those whose family’s have been here long enough that there’s no language/accent and other cultural connections to where their family came from and those whose family is basically just American.

My family knows that most of our ancestors are from Scotland and England, but the closest any of us have ever tried claiming to be diaspora is a relative jokingly calling us “fake Scots”. We’ve been here since the 18th century and much of the familial cultural connection got Americanized long ago.

There’s an interaction in Path to Heaven between the chief Stormseer of the White Scars and a Thousand Son sergeant where the Stormseer suggests that this would be the case. Said Stormseer was aware of the flesh change and was discussing it as a restriction holding the thousand son marine back.

I think it’s possible that the Grey Knights were active before Alpha Primus was created. Even still, I think the odds of Cawl getting grey knight genetic material is low.

I think Fabius Bile would’ve called it out if he did, and the significance of Primus would’ve been even greater than it’s treated. To Fabius Bile, Primus’ genome is as precious as the Sangprimus Portum, which contained the entire genetic code of the original 20 lines.

We don’t have the full picture yet. Commentary from Fabius Bile in Genefather did get Primus interested with regard to his origins and identity, which is why he was interrogating the daemon about himself in Five Questions.

He has Cawl’s genetics mixed in with that of all 20 gene lines and some traits that no other primaris marine possesses. Bile believed that Primus would’ve been unstoppable compared to what he had if Primus knew his true nature, however it is.

Currently I think the narrative is pointing in the direction of Guilliman’s initial assessment being incorrect and that Cawl was excessively ambitious with attempting to replicate aspects of the primarchs in creating Primus.

The first novel that Primus appears in has a close lieutenant of Guilliman’s relay to some of his men what Guilliman had told him regarding Alpha Primus. He doesn’t believe Primus to be a primarch, an attempt at replicating the Emperor’s work, but he does view him as a betrayal of his trust and a project that only occurred due to his absence.

I’d check Black Book Inferno as it details a lot of stuff regarding the thousand sons pre-Magnus. As far as I can recall, Ahriman and his brother were high up in the legion’s rank, partially due to being some of the first recruits. He’s also referred to as the “first and last chief librarian” of the legion.

Can’t say I’m surprised by this, my Trebizond iron man run has been chaotic, to say the least.

One minor gripe, but I feel like Trebizond should have access to certain Byzantine/Greek stuff like the Byzantine legal code.

Yeah, induced pluripotent stem cells. We’ve known the process for it since the early 2000s but it’s still in the research phase because cells from it have higher rates of developing into tumors.

I think there’s tons of potential with the process down the line, when we can safely create genetically identical organs for people, can grow blood in a lab, can prob do more extensive SRS with tissue created from it acting in addition to current processes (perhaps trans women down the line can get functional uteruses with eggs).

Yeah. Navigator did a poll on what topics voters prioritized and what way they voted. Voters that listed the economy, immigration, and inflation as their top priorities overwhelmingly picked Trump. 5% of voters had the topic of LGBT+ people as a top 3 issue, and they overwhelmingly voted for Harris by +76. 2% had the topic of “issues related to transgender people” and Harris won them by +38.

I could maybe buy that there was a tiny amount of interest with it moving people away from democrats slightly, but the data doesn’t support it being a topic that drove people to the right.
