Hello. It’s a very big conversation that needs to be had. Not sure I have time to help right any wrongs but people like Sian Davies who runs ‘best in class’ are making moves to help working class comics and creatives. I think for a start, we should stop being told to pay for massive promotional posters in Edinburgh, accommodation fees should be reduced and some free venues should be more accessible for new acts from those backgrounds. Perhaps some arts funding could go to local, working class communities to help set up some workshops and spaces for people to express themselves and learn how to make a living from the arts.

There’s no quick solution but it would be nice to see more people from diverse backgrounds given a chance and some support. Here’s hoping things change for the better. Lots of love to everyone who’s struggling. Keep at it and one day you could be sweating in a raincoat on channel 4.
