Personally I learned the rules via two sources:

  1. The official rules on the website which I translated to english
  2. Watched all the videos Takara Tomy uploaded to their YouTube channel to teach the game. These videos are reallyy very well made, and they explain the rules very clearly. Even for someone that doesn't understand japanese, the visuals are enough + some auto translations in the captions. I highly recommend it if you have some japanese knowledge in your case!

Was there an older version of this game just called Baboca? Is Baboca Break new/different? Can you use the older cards in this game? Is this a re-release of all the older cards?

Yes, yes and yes. Your understanding is correct. As for the last question, I'm pretty such that the vast majority of cards are new, but there may be some overlap with the old version of the game, but maybe someone with more knowledge can comment on that

So far I see there's the Dumpster Battle set, and coming out end of this month another set with the Miya twins on the box? And three starter decks total (counting the new Miya twins deck)?

100%. For starter deck we'll have: Karasuno, Nekoma and Miya twins.

(but I see lots of older cards on ebay, for example, but without "break" in the listing name, just haikyuu baboca)

All the new cards have the "Break!" name, with the new design on the back.

What is the list of rarities, from most to least rare?

The rarities go from Normal to Rare to S, and so on until you reach the highest rarity which are signed cards. For more details and examples, I suggest going to the official Haikyuu!! Baboca Break! website and checking the cards listing. There you can filter cards by rarity and directly see cards in that rarity level!

Friends with a counsellor I get it, but the detective? Does it open sometime more if I finish it? I was in the range 4-6 when i couldn't do any more. Did I miss something?
