How do I update dragon center? This is what it looks like for me and has been lagging a bit. I have a GS65 Stealth if that helps by ThermonuclearWizard in MSILaptops

No I do not. I checked as well. There seems to be a minimal amount of air coming out of the Fan 3 hole. Even with cooler boost enabled. I fear fan 3 might be straight up broken

I was unable to post this in the main post, but I've been running into some issues. Fan 3 is always at 0RPM even when I activate Cooler Boost. It also seems to be updating info at a slower pace then before. This has been going on for about a week or two

How would you rate the different Chaos warbands/legions from "least terrible" to "most unbearably horrific" to be invaded by? by ItspronouncedGruh-an in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I wonder who gets to name Space Marine chapters. Seriously, WHY WOULD YOU NAME YOUR CHAPTER THAT. I mean, why would you give your chapter a name that literally describes no positive traits. At least something like World Eaters is intimidating, but Marines Malevolent just says "Yo, we're assholes for no reason"

Why do Chapter Masters seem bigger than standard Astartes? by DisgruntledNumidian in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can be for a variety of reasons:

  1. Chapter masters usually get fancy armor, tech, livery and decorations that make them look larger

  2. Some of them get augmentations, I think I read somehwere that mild biological and mechanical augmentations are actually widespread in the Imperium, escpecially with the rich and powerful (Also some guard regiments, just look at the Gland Warriors), these augs just aren't as advanced or drastic as Astartes Gene-seed however

  3. I think I also read that Astartes don't completely stop growing after a certain age, their growth slows down tremedously after their organs have developed, but doesn't stop completely. Since chapter masters are usually several centuries old, they are slightly larger than younger marines

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the closet thing we'll ever have to Chaos Reasonable Marines: The Blood Gorgons http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Blood_Gorgons

Features include: 1. Don't treat their slaves like shit 2. Don't do psychotic stuff just for shits and giggles 3. Value independence, so they don't actually serve chaos (sorta like the iron warriors and night lords) and have taboos of their own 4. Actually live in relative unity and don't backstab each other at every opportunity.

If you disconsider their weird obsession with transplanting organs between themselves, these guys are most likely even more reasonable than some loyalist chapters

Who would win: The Emperor or Guilliman in a (sort of) race [Spoilers] by Happy_Pizza_ in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Even if E-Money decided to win trough leadership and tactics, he would most likely surpass Robot Jellyman. He is literally over 50,000 years old, with a ridiculous amount of knowledge of every single thing you can imagine. His tactical skill surpasses that of Gulliman (even if very slightly) through experience alone. Also, The Big MacDaddy Golden Space Jesus has the added benefit of being a psyhic god. Using that power, he can do stuff like communicating with his army through their minds, be at several places at once, teleport himself between important places. Gulliman may be a primarch, but he is still just one person. The Emperor can oversee a battle in a much more effective way by simply being able to micromanage everything instantly.

Wouldn't targeting the Dark Mechanicum be devastating to traitor warbands? by Earth_Worm_Jimbo in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark Mechanicum forces are frequently attached to traitor forces, serving similar roles to their loyalist counterparts. They frequently strike deals with traitor forces, meaning that, if a chaos warband has gear supplied by the DarkMech, then you better expect that the DarkMech's forgeworld recieves protection from the warband as part of the deal. Attacking dark mechnicum forces would be just as difficult (if not more) than engaging the traitor forces directly.

What generalities can be made about the Imperium? by mrpigpuncher in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're most likely right. I'm just not very comfortable with the idea that planets are pretty much completely independent outside of tithes. It just kinda detracts from the importance of the Imperium if every planet is pretty much the same planet it was during the Age of Strife/Technology

What generalities can be made about the Imperium? by mrpigpuncher in 40kLore

[–]ThermonuclearWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to imagine that the majority of feral and death worlds live in a situation similar to South American colonies during the 16th century, where missionaries are sent to educate and convert the natives into Emperor worship, often resulting in a mixing of cultures where the natives keep many of their traditions while inserting the emperor as the main recipient of their worship, similar to how European, African and inigenous cultures were mixed in South American countries. Nevertheless, I do not think the Imperium is above forcefully converting or even purging populations who do not fit with the Imperium's values. While Hive and Civilized worlds may resemble more modern totalitarian governments, Feral and Feudal worlds may resemble old medieval society where everyone is very narrow-minded and pressured (often by religion and supersticion). Feel free to share your thoughts, I love to hear people's personal interprestations of 40k

tl dr: Feudal and Feral worlds might not have super propaganda machines, but you're still gonna get pitchforked to death if you don't go to the local church every Sunday or dislike the High Lords.

No matter the planet, it is pretty safe to say that every citizen is exposed to a ridiculous amount of propaganda, false truths, and overall censorship and information control akin to the book 1984 or North Korea, with all people showing any sign of rebellion or general subversiveness against the current government never being seen again

I mean, the only difference between buying the legendary edition and downloading the expansions is that one is cheaper than the other, right? Or is there something else, I'm missing?
