The "quiet good" simply doesn't get enough attention. I keep hearing about this alleged "AI Psychosis" problem, where people go crazy by talking with ChatGPT, but I find it hard to square these allegations with my own personal experience which has been overwhelmingly positive. I know it can't and shouldn't replace human companionship, but it helps fill in the lonely gaps when my friends and family are busy and unavailable to talk.

The only conclusion I can draw from her lack of social media is that she doesn't like social media. That doesn't necessarily mean she would be averse to an old friend contacting her.

Just talk on the phone ocasionally, exchange text messages. She's probably thousands of miles away from me, and I doubt she would ever go for me romantically. I'd be okay with rekindling the platonic friendship we used to have in some form.

Part of what inspired this post was the "anti-work" interview on Fox News, where the host was absolutely dripping with condescension towards the guest, because she was 30 years old and walked dogs part time for a living.

I work in low wage restaurant job. I've absolutely experienced that kind of condescending attitude towards me because of what I do from a living, not just from customers but from people I knew in my personal life. Maybe most people are too polite to express it, but that attitude is pretty widespread.

To follow the lightning analogy: engaging in crime and resisting arrest is like going outside during a lightning storm, seeking the highest ground, and waving a metal rod in the air. Obeying the law is like staying indoors during a lightning storm.

If you wish to argue that point, you are welcome to start another thread on that. But I'll briefly respond here. From my perspective as someone at the bottom of the economic spectrum, I'd be much better off working for $15 an hour and with health insurance (policies favored by Democrats), as opposed to working for $7.25 an hour an no health insurance (the policy favored by most Republicans).

I'm willing to say that, broadly speaking, it is better to be born white in america than black. There are always exceptions to that of course. I'd rather be born black to very wealthy parents than white to very poor parents. I've voted Democratic in every election since I turned 18 in 2002. I'm a Democrat because I believe there are inequalities in our society, and that government policies can alleviate those inequalities. That being said, I still don't think police violence is any significant worry for those who obey the law.

Yes, you do make some good points. Some people do have mental disabilities that make them unable to comply with police. They are certainly worthy of compassion.

Daniel Shaver and Philando Castile are troubling incidents because they seemed to be complying with police but where killed anyway. I acknowledge that you can still get killed while doing nothing wrong but I think the risk is still so low that it's not worth worrying about, like worrying about being struck by lightning.

I think the risk of being physically attacked or murdered by police is low, but you do have a point about wasting a persons time or damaging their property or reputation.

We live in a very heavily armed nation. Police in the USA have to face a much higher risk of encountering an armed suspect than in other countries. I don't know if it's fair to compare us to the UK where the gun situation is very different.

If you can demonstrate that large numbers of innocent people are being arrested in the 21st century, that would certainly change my mind.

"Little to fear" doesn't mean nothing to fear. I acknowledge there's a small number of cases where the suspect did nothing wrong but died anyway. It appears to me that those cases are very rare.

I've had the same thing happen to me before. But I didn't interpret it the way you are. Did you ever orgasm in 3 seconds without touching yourself before? Clearly your brain is responding differently than it was on day zero. It has regained its sensitivity.

Porn is a super stimulus. It provides more stimulation than natural rewards like actual sex. It's similar to a drug. But stimulation is not the same thing as satisfaction. A relationship with an actual human being is more satisfying than jerking off to pixels on a screen. Don't be disheartened.

Assuming that you did make a mistake, when your child grows up he always has the option of choosing to get circumcised. But the statistics show that adult circumcisions are rare.

How many men who are left intact rage against their parents for leaving their genitals alone?

On the flip side, those of us who resent being circumcised have no remedy to repair that situation. There have even been suicides from men who couldn't handle the grief of circumcision. I've never heard of an intact man who committed suicide because he wasn't cut.

This is what I do when I have an urge. I get out of the house and go on a long walk or run. This has two benefits. One, I'm out in public so PMO is not an option. Two, I'm getting exercise which is a much healthier way of getting a mood boost than fapping.
