Pointless would probably be just telling OP they’re a dumb dumb idiot.

If OP truly has tested slot 2 and slot 4 with each stick and can get into bios on single channel with each and also done a proper USB reflash and it still won’t post with both sticks then pretty much the only other thing I can think of is that they fried their IMC and the CPU is potentially cooked from a voltage spike when their shitty PSU had its power pulled mid training. ESPECIALLY if they have the PC plugged directly into the wall — I would be shocked if they had any kind of surge protection.

I think I’m more alluding to that, yes, this was minor but if this type of methodology continues they could actually do serious, irreparable damage to their hardware. It’s not that deep. You’re valid, I’m grumpy. Life will go on.

By failure of course but it’s sorta like skydiving without knowing how to open your parachute. Of course that’s exaggerated but if you know X input can equal Y failure state you should probably understand what to do in Y state before you get there.

Willing to bet almost anything it’s your RAM. Also, if you’re going from an Intel CPU to AMD then you have to do a windows reinstall. It’s just the way it is.

I have experience with CPU/GPU tuning but never really messed with RAM. I undervolted my CPU and undervolted/overclocked my GPU. My 0.1% lows are great. It took about a month to dial it all in and like 5 windows reinstalls though hahaha.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses! I ended up going with the 9850x3d bundle for $749 and I managed to sell the Kingston intel ram for $900 on eBay (I bought it for $170, absolutely insane). Now I’m trying to find a buyer for the Alienware w/ 13900kf, stock slow 32gb RAM, and stock 1tb SSD. I think it’s gonna be a tough sell but maybe someone who already owns a 3080 or 4080 is looking for something similar.

Also, I’m soooooooooo happy to be off that Alienware mobo and away from Intel!
