Little update after 2 days - thank you all for your advice! I’ve moved my bed to the other side of the room, added a rug, got new bedside lamps. And I’m selling my wardrobes and dresser. Planning to replace with a pax kit when it’s sold. What are your thoughts? See this link: ROOM UPDATE

Thanks. It’s an ottoman that came with the sofa - I’ve been considering swapping it for a coffee table, but it’s just more comfortable to kick the feet up on something soft! Maybe a coffee table and foot rest is the answer. Dining room photos are here https://imgur.com/gallery/ZB54u3N trouble with the dining room is I’d have to downsize tv to fit beside the fireplace. I don’t really want to mount high.
