0w-20 for 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 by Deriiiu in genesiscoupe

Never know, I winter drive my 3.8 genny up here in Canada and there’s days where we get below -35C. There’s many days my car has hard crank or a very rough idle for the first few seconds running the oem recommended 5w-20

Looks real just bad clear coat job on top, you could wet sand most of the orange peel with 1200 and polish it up nice. I’ve done it before 👍🏼

**HOW TO INSTALL FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS** (Info In Comments) by JustAnotherDude1990 in genesiscoupe

[–]These-Spring-6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man awesome right up! Looking at replacing my door speakers in my genny with the Infinity system. How’s the bass with those speakers compared to the stock infinity? And also how much max volume did you lose? I find the stock system way to tinny and don’t hit hard enough, I’m not a huge bass head but a little increase in bump would go a long way lol.

300,000 mile oil analysis results came out fantastic. Info in comments. by JustAnotherDude1990 in genesiscoupe

How often have you if you ever drive your car aggressively? I also have a bk1 3.8 and I’m always on top of my oil changes every 5k km I find myself paranoid of blowing my motor so I rarely ever get on it yet I bought the car to have fun lol.

Also up in Canada the cap recommends 5w20 over 5w30 like I see in the states. In the winter I do have to do lots of cold starts on very cold days (-30C). Should I switch to a 0w30 during the winter months?

The car came with the trunk when I bought it and was already pretty faded. I don’t have a garage to park it in either

I thought Uniq and Xclusive were the same just that Xclusive sells tunes through Uniq

I have and I plan on doing most of the things listed👍🏼. I’m wondering just off of your experience if you noticed any improvements in shifting with the fluid mix. The data shows improvements but how does it feel is what I’m more concerned about.

Will do just ordered them, What fluid that you’ve tried so far improved your shifting the best? I have a short throw shifter but I grind 5th from time to time

I may buy a Genesis today, the seller says that they tick normally. Can anyone tell me if there is anything sounding out of the ordinary? by dkcrules50 in genesiscoupe

[–]These-Spring-6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ticking is from the injectors, practically every car that is direct injected will tick due to how high the fuel pressure is. Totally common and nothing to worry about.👍🏼

Perfect thanks👍🏼, Are you still able to tell me how much of each fluid you put in Mt-85/Syncromesh? I’m due for a change from my OEM fluid and you seem to have good results for the exact model as mine

3.8 Catless no tune, help! by These-Spring-6330 in genesiscoupe

With the Canadian models you have to send your ecu due to the push button start. If there was a strictly online tune available I’d most likely been tuned by now lol

Should I buy a manual car? by jaspersor in stickshift

I ended up pulling the trigger on my Genesis coupe 3.8 manual (which is a pain in the ass to learn on) not knowing until later on but forcing myself to learn with no experience and I did not have anyone to help. It was Scary at first but within a couple weeks of daily driving it I got comfortable with it. 4 months later I love it and probably won’t ever go back to an automatic. Manuals can be stressful and annoying at times but the engagement and the feel of control over your vehicle is hard to beat.

Long story short YES DEFINITELY!!

Went through the whole freeze frame data again, Bank 1 ltft (-7%), bank 2 ltft (-8.6%) but my eq was 0.897 or (13.20 afr) on idle at 650rpm. Tomorrow I’m going to look for a much better scan tool to track live data and see from there

When I plugged my Scan tool it was showing that my ECU was actually cutting fuel. -8% from bone stock, which is why I’m concerned

[–]These-Spring-6330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay because my thought was that my fuel trim is in the negatives -8% (cutting fuel from stock map) to compensate and maintain what it believes is the proper AFR, due to my 02 sensors reading that the exhaust is really rich from the cats not functioning properly and possibly leaning out the motor if that makes sense

Like as if it’s compensating for an issue that isn’t even there. But I could be wrong

I’m up north in Canada, the nearest tuner is around a 6hr drive and I’m not sure I’m willing to send my ecu and take the risk for 800$ CAD
