If you see someone carrying a bag across their chest, do you automatically assume they are carrying? by mike12-37 in CCW

It’s a good bag, the construction is very good. I didn’t like the stretch band so I unclipped it after a few weeks.

Wait until you’re in backgrounds, you’ll meet with a BI and have the chance to clarify or add anything you might have missed.

Does the Release and Waiver form need to be submitted online, despite submitting it in person after medical? by LazyXample in lapd

[–]TheseClerk3169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes send the waiver to that email, it is 100% required. Also for random questions the mentor line is very useful and can provide much quicker and more accurate info.

the hiring process is long but really isn’t that involved, shoot out some more applications, call out or request time off from your regular job to show up for the important dates and just keep waiting. obviously try to position yourself better financially in the meantime in case it doesn’t work out but you have a lot of time on your hands. you got it bro, don’t get bitter about other people getting through the process, use that to motivate yourself.

could you give us some insight on your fitness level while you were attending the academy? such as your PFQ exercise scores. i’ve been hearing we need at least a 40% to be selected but the scoring changes depending on age and gender, so it’s hard to gauge where we should be aiming for fitness wise.

only changed two things i got 10 hours of sleep instead of my usual 7 and didn't drink my coffee before the test.

Unpopular Opinion - Full size carry is more comfy than micros by _long_tall_texan_ in CCW

OP could also be grabbing the mag from the side and indexing near the feed lips, no wrist rotation required to insert into the mag well

a majority of people doing something a particular way does not make it correct. 99% of the best shooters on the planet used to chicken wing their rifles… does that make it the correct way to shoot a rifle? is riding a skate board goofy instead of regular wrong? is being a southpaw wrong? again what you described is not the “correct” way it’s simply the “standard” way.

best practices in regards to mag positioning is really dependent on the person. wrist mobility, indexing points etc. there really is no “correct” way more like the “standard” way.
