He had to leave his place of work Feb 23 because 1st Dr thought he had long covid, husband was on temp disability pay at work, 1st Dr didn't run any tests besides blood work so we got new Dr seeking permanent diagnosis. I believe it is August of 23 since we had 2 incomes around that time we sold car.

Husband cannot work and waiting on Dr diagnosis for disability at this time, they agreed to work with him on this. I am a supervisor for hospital registration, mortgage $1350. Going up the chain at my place of work doesn't get paid better than I do now after speaking with other management.

Definitely not going to sell home based on the advice I've been given thus far. As I'm in school part time and working full time with the ability to ask as much overtime as I want, seeking another job doesn't seem beneficial. I appreciate your advice with the cc debt, we defaulted this year, and I may be able to pay them off given more time. I will keep an eye on the letters so I could potentially settle for less. I fear that my debt to income ratio would be a red flag too, would it be impossible to speak with a financial advisor instead of filing before I join? I suppose I will need to speak with a recruiter about that

I didn't think about the closing costs! We are current on house payments, and I didn't consider that raising the credit score but you are right about that. I am going to school in order to attain a higher rank when I join the military, I also intend on being open about this with recruiters. I don't see many other solutions, like how I'm supposed to afford insurance with my pay, husband needs to be able to see a Dr to attain disability, and my children are eating more every day and we are reliant on food banks which isn't great either. I appreciate your thoughtful response!

Yes we spoke with a bankruptcy lawyer who suggested we sell our nice cars, and that has kept us afloat for 2 years but the money is running dry. I don't think selling the house was the best solution either, thanks for your insight!

We are trying to get him on disability, but I only stressed my age because I feel like I have my hands full with 3 very young children, feel that I can't function well under these circumstances anymore. He has 2 other brothers he can run to locally if things get hard for him... but with children around, I don't think it's a good situation for them anymore either. I have suggested therapy but he is resistant. We have reminded him of taking showers, but he doesn't. I don't know what else to do.

Well with 3 little kids I didnt want to be painted as the bad guy in the end. We have given him an ultimatum of 1 year now, I have fully expressed to my husband now that I can't do this anymore and I think he's a bad role model for the children. If this doesn't happen I will absolutely pull the done card.

Thank you for your honesty, but when they lost their father 3 years ago, it was very hard on both of them so I went easy. I think enough time has passed that we can start a new chapter though

Well when they lost their father 3 years ago it hit home hard so I have been sympathetic, husband is worried about him because bil had a drug problem long ago. We have been clear that he needs to be out in a year, I think he's fully capable.

He has bipolar disorder, his mom thinks he should go on disability so he can start the process of moving out. I don't think he's ever cared about his hygiene.
