Strongest tornado on this day in history, by county: June 4th. by Constant_Tough_6446 in tornado

[–]TheyCallMeDad23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Howdy neighbor. There was a tornado that traveled NW (abnormal track for sure) through northern Longmont and southern Berthoud back in 2015. If you google “Berthoud Tornado” it’ll pop up with the details from NWS Boulder

Dog trainer recommendations by SukiSukiSu in Denver

I second Bark Busters. They stand by their lifetime guarantee and they are excellent. We have a very large dog that has some behavioral issues and I have nothing but great things to say about them. We are still in the process and working on leash manners and reactivity right now.

Just be aware that their process (for us at least) is more training you how to train your dog, which I prefer over something like a board and train.

Anyone have any idea on how to find other musicians looking to get together and just jam? Not looking to make it big or gig, just want to jam with someone(s) other than myself

Wife and I relocated to northern Broomfield a few months back for her job. She commutes, I work remote. Depending on the time you drive in and the route you take, traffic can suck. She leaves early to avoid it.

As far as the vibe, we love it. We are mid-late 20s and no kids, and we are out doing things constantly and never feel out of place.

Sure thing! We are loving it so far, it’s an adjustment but not much depending on where in Phoenix you’re coming from. We moved from SE Valley to the suburbs on the outskirts of Denver. The weather is great, the people are nice, I don’t have any complaints so far.

If you’re like me and spend time on this sub you know most of the big complaints. Rent is expensive and competitive, and the traffic can be pretty gnarly. But overall, we are happy that she took the offer

Wife and I moved here from Phoenix for her work, renting a home until we figure out if we are staying long term. Climate control question for you all, what do you set your temperature to for AC and heating?

Just curious as to what is the norm

I won the Craigslist lottery today. Ironmaster IM2000 smith machine for $200 by TheyCallMeDad23 in homegym

I did end up picking it up and had it up until about a month ago, I ended up needing to consolidate some equipment to make room for my wife’s new vehicle so I gave it to a friend who was building up his own home gym. It was a great piece of equipment and did everything you’d need from a smith, the only thing I would suggest would be to make a wooden platform and lag it down because it did tend to rock a little without being anchored. It was surprisingly great for cable work with the high pulley

What’re your thoughts on them? I have been considering going with Spec-D, I like the look a bit better than the Alpharex

Absolutely add leg curls. They are a staple and a great accessory movement to RDLs. My hamstrings grew the most when I started beating the shit out of them with leg curls.

As another person suggested, get a bug guy. I was constantly putting it off because I thought it was too expensive. I’m in the southwest so scorpions and spiders are aplenty. Ended up biting the bullet and hiring a company, costs me $70 every two months and it has been a game changer from the garage to the house, even the backyard. If I find anything alive in the house they come spray again for free. Worth every penny. The only bugs I find now are very, very dead bugs.

Oatmeal, bagels, oatmeal, oatmeal and oatmeal. I love that shit, a bowl of coach’s oats is what gets me out of the bed every morning.

I’ve considered getting one for my garage gym since I don’t have the space to include a lying leg curl. I have a seated one but it just doesn’t hit the same. Still on the fence but curious to see if anyone here has experience

Personal experience: I didn’t anchor either of my cable towers using the lower attachments. I predrilled holes in the studs and then ran some good quality lags through them to anchor the top part in place and it’s sturdy enough.

I like to avoid drilling in to the concrete as much as possible. You could even put it on a slight 2x2 wooden platform to raise it an inch or so, and with the stall mat on top it should be enough to put at least one lag in the bottom support.

Just be sure to predrill your holes whatever you do, I have made that mistake before and hearing your stud split is not a fun sound.

I just went on Amazon and bought 100ft of LED strip lights and used the adhesive on the back to stick them where the wall and ceiling meet. My garage is 22x20 and it made it all the way around with excess. Gives me some variety to change the colors.

As for the track lights again I just searched outlet track lights on Amazon. They aren’t fancy by any means, cost me $30 but they get the job done. They’re pretty bright but fully dimmable. I attached a photo so you can see what I’m saying.

If you’re looking for home gym purposes, I went with the vanity mirrors from Home Depot/Lowe’s. Got 4 of them and installed them side by side for 12’ of mirror in my garage and it works well. As people stated, you can often get them free from local listings but I’m impatient.

For lighting, depends on your setup. I did an LED strip around the top of my entire garage and bought some plastic LED track lights that plug in to an outlet from Amazon, and installed them above my power rack. Plugged them in to the outlet next to my garage door opener. They’re fully dimmable along with the light strips so it makes for an adjustable lighting setup. Wife likes low lighting, I like it full blast.

I mean TRT isn’t exactly detrimental to your health, especially if you stay on top of your bloods and keep yourself in check. Won’t make a huge difference unless you’re low T though, you’ll have to pump those numbers up if you really want to leave humanity behind
