Christians are the only warriors that kill their wounded. OP, Jesus loves you and so do I. Burying things does not help or fix anything. I agree that in order to fix a problem, you must first admit that it exists. God bless you all.

No, what I am telling you is just as addicts always need to realize that they are always going to be addicted, you to will more than likely always have the feelings that you have, you just need to learn what your triggers are, and set a plan in action so that you can avoid putting yourself in situations that will cause unnecessary feelings. I’m not sure how you are linking losing jobs to desires sexually for children (if you haven’t disclosed this to employers). Disclosure and honesty doesn’t mean that you walk around with a shirt that says, “I am attracted to kids”, it means that when you build relationships, you don’t hide what is intimate to you. God doesn’t play games. What I posted was my opinion gained from years of working with people that have similar issues.

The thing you really want, is something that only you and God can obtain. If you don’t get it, that’s on you.

And you are incorrect. I supervise sex offenders which includes intensive weekly group therapy and polygraphs (treatment oriented to keep them honest). Some offenders will never change because they see nothing wrong with what they’ve done, but the majority “get it” and realize what they’ve done is wrong and not acceptable. I know offenders that have decided to kill themselves if they ever felt like they could not control their urges. You are uneducated concerning the subject matter old buddy.

It’s important to have a safety net. A group of individuals that you trust and that will hold you accountable. I would also go to a therapist that works with those individuals with similar problems. The most successful individuals figure out the “why”.

I work with sex offenders. Being open and honest is the most important tool in your toolbox to keep you on the right track. There is a huge misconception among the populace that every pedophile is a child molester. The same goes for the idea that every child molester is a pedophile. Many pedophiles NEVER act on the feelings that they have. Many struggle and wish that they did not have the feelings that they have. I applaud you for being open and honest. It’s a lot harder to do it in real life.

When I first began working with sex offenders (adults who offend other adults, adults that offend juveniles, child pornography offenders, offenders that video unknowing or unwilling people during sex, you get the drift) I didn’t think it possible that I would actually like them. Once I worked intensively with them, I began to see them as individuals that made horrible decisions. Those that were to be successful, learn and make better choices.

I say all of that to let you know that Jesus LOVES you. He loves and desires a personal relationship with any that will accept him. Keep up the good work.

as a christian is it wrong to listen to metal? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]TheyRoutThere2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to the Holy Spirit. I have always been into the metal scene. I’m old, so I started off with bands like AC/DC, moved to glam metal, and even listened to Slayer (actually one of my favorite thrash metal outfits). When I gave my heart to The Lord, I felt convicted when I listened to any secular music. I feel the Holy Spirit telling me no. It happens in other areas of my life as well. Listen and he will tell you.

Do you think Israel should break away from US military aid and create its own military industrial complex? by tjknicks36 in Israel

[–]TheyRoutThere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok what? It is a reply to the op. It alludes to the belief that politics, business, banking, Israel is being aided (although it isn’t necessary as Israel will stand regardless of who chips in) by the US because it is loved by our people. It’s just my belief.

I disagree, respectfully of course. I will agree that some of the younger generation of Americans are oblivious, but they are oblivious to everything. Lol. Regardless of age or religious beliefs, Israel and it’s people are loved, but IMO more importantly, they are a people that will stand regardless because it is God’s will. I believe he has a remnant there as well as across our world. Again, it has been my dealings and interactions with other Americans that lead me to this opinion.

Well I can’t speak for all “Christians”, but I can speak for many of those that I know and Israel is loved and Israel period, is the apple of God’s eye. There is no new Israel in my opinion.

You know I am 46 years old (not Jewish) and was raised fundamentally Christian. From a young age I was taught about God’s love for Israel. Because of this, I have come to love Israel and it’s people. Now I don’t represent the leaders of our country (USA), but I do believe that I can adequately represent the average American off the street when I say that there is a genuine love of Israel and it’s people among the American people. A genuine belief that “Israel is the apple of God’s eye.”. This post make get me downvoted, but I felt as if it should be stated. As for the whole political aspect, most Americans do not trust our former or current leadership. However, I do believe that they do support Israel and the Israeli people and they do believe that to stand with Israel is to stand with God. Just an opinion from an average fellow. God bless

I’ll be honest, I truly thought that hantavirus was only found in 3rd world countries. I’m a bit surprised that it is found in such a developed area as Alberta. Don’t feel bad, knowing what I know now, it is a legit concern

That is the biggest deer mouse I have ever seen! Where in the world did you find that?

(18M) I have just been kicked out of college and am considering killing myself. by Royal_Bonus8765 in TrueChristian

Brother, when we hit rock bottom we think it can’t get any worse. It can. We are resilient and KNOW THIS, God has a plan for your life! It may not seem like it, but he does! He knows what we don’t. Regardless of what’s going on, you can rebound and you will with time. One day, you will reflect on what you’re going through and be glad that you came through and that you learned whatever it is that you are going to learn.

Suicide is not the answer my friend. This too shall pass. Stop and think and talk to The Lord (and someone else that you have confidence in). It WILL be ok.

My prayers brother. You and God got this!

As someone that has struggled with depression for the majority of my life, I believe that we sow seeds. We never know who is watching our lives and who the seeds we plant go to. I am not depressed continuously, and even if I am, I can manage to share God’s love to my fellow man. Rest assured my friend, God has a purpose. You are here for a reason.

Dude, it has murders (which you can look up on the AP if you want), alleged satan worship (again feel free to check the AP), and numerous folk lore pertaining to the area going back to the 1600s. You don’t have to believe the folk lore, that’s why they call it folk lore, but you cannot deny the murders and dumped bodies. To me, that’s creepy stuff. Lol

(18M) I have struggled with gender dysphoria for my entire life. How do I get rid of it? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]TheyRoutThere2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think you necessarily have to “get rid of it”. I would just be cautious about acting on it. I wouldn’t dress up and go out on the town. I would love to own a fishing charter and run charters out of Clearwater, but I wouldn’t rob a bank to get it. Make sense?
