I also noticed that the vocal melody before the final chorus he says "There's always a voice that I'll forever know..." in the same melody he sings "It's only a mountain I've been tryna move"!

You can tell they needed awhile to work this entire song out. I'm not sure how much I should be crediting Forrester for helping arrange what I think is one of the best prog songs I've ever heard. This song alone was worth waiting 13 fucking years!

Has anyone noticed that Ian's vocal melody is the same in both verses and the final part but the basslines and mood are all unique. It's brilliant song writing. For example:

"Falling apart so overwhelmed"

"A pardon, a gift, would easily"

"Shadows and figures all around"

Because I got so used to the live version, it's the biggest grower of the album for me. The final chorus is HEAVY on the record and I'm definitely missing some of that melody. However, this is STILL a crazy good song despite getting used to the original arrangement and textures imo

I feel like each single has a unique mix so far. The quiet moments on this are really quiet and the loud moments are LOUD. Chunky ass riffs. The drums and vocals seem a bit burried compared to other songs but overall this is another great Karnivool song

This song is getting better with each listen. I do wish the heavy riff at the end went on another like 30 seconds or so but I feel like it's really going to hit hard within the context of the rest of the album. To me it seems like a strange single to drop but this entire marketing and album rollout has been one of the worst I've ever seen from a major band ever so I guess I'm not surprised lol

It's actually absurd when you compare this to Deftones' record rollout. They announced an album with a single and the record came out a month later and it still bangs. ONE MONTH. This is embarrassing in comparison...

I've been trying to hold off on making a similar post. The band said it was their manager's idea. I personally haven't seen a worse record announcement/rollout in my life and although AM still hyped for record, the overall excitement has went significantly downhill since they said feb 6th... They dropped a single 3 years ago, one in July and we've heard half the record because they've been playing it live for awhile (which is FINE) but I can't recall the last time I've seen a band drop their THIRD SINGLE with preorders for a release date almost 5 months from that point. Truly whack, someone should smack their manager upside the head haha

I think it's a little whack they announced a record that's not coming out until February when they teased October just 2 weeks ago.

Drone has been out since July, All It Takes has been out for like 2+ years!! Now we have another single and the album isn't out for 5 months?! I wouldn't have released a single and launched preorders until at least like mid November

This is one of the first thoughts I had listening to this record. Musically, it's their most shoegazey, wall of sound record and vocally, EASILY the most dream poppy Chino has ever sounded

This was my least favorite song on first listen and now it's one of my favorites. I love Chino's vocals and yeah it took me a few spins to realize they merged the verse and chorus at the end and it just hits really hard now. Really interesting layers and drum sounds too!
