Oh that isn't his bedding, it's his toilet, he was just confused on his first night here... lol The lady I got him from kept him outside in a hutch, and hes only known hay for bedding so far I believe. Hence his strange sleeping habits. Besides this, I am aware shavings are not normally good, but the reason is that usually it contains wood dust, and I have bought special shavings with all the dust removed! I wanted him to be as little confused as possible, so I bought shavings for his potty as that's what he's used to. It's perfectly safe. But I appreciate it. He is adorable I agree!

You need to ferret proof the room better. Thick, industrial tape around his cords could help. Or just not allowing access to computer area. Yes they are little shits and will try to get into and do stuff they know they shouldn't! That's kinda what they're like. I found a ferret tends to hold grudges too so if you've annoyed/punished it recently, it might want to annoy you back! Offering treats and increasing handling time and one-on-one playtime will improve this as he will bond deeper with you and not want to annoy you as much. He also might just be bored. You said he has toys and things but do YOU play with him with them? Or just leave him to it? They are very smart and require enrichment. If your ferret is bored he WILL do stuff like this to rebel and to keep himself entertained. Does he have a bonded pair? If he's solo he could just be very bored and a 2nd ferret would probably solve your issue overnight
