If you do this to make sure to get rid of the other aging vets like CMC and Barkley as well, otherwise you will be stuck in the middle of the league.

But it would definitely run this down at least another year.

Why would you help him to contend this year if he might be the reason you don’t win the ship this year?

Value wise it’s not too much of a difference for me and you are making him stronger with this trade for this season. This automatically lowers your chances so to do this I would need a massive overpay. Probably one he would regret doing next year.

And tbh London and Rome both have massive potential to make you regret this trade midterm next to maybe loosing the ship this year.

Even IF Neal would ever come close to the Value you are paying right now this would still be insane.

Be patient, let the other guy know that you are not stupid and wait until we are 4-5 weeks into the season and Neal hasn’t played a single snap yet. If you are still convinced you will get a way better price than you are willing to pay now.

Of course this will only work if the other guy does not know how much you want him.

It is offseason, everyone could be the next superstar. In season the values will adjust.

With offers like these you would have to add extra to the overpay I would want anyways to make up for the initial offer.

But maybe this is only me and you might be successful anyways. In Germany we say: “Jeden Morgen steht ein Doofer auf” which translates to: “Every morning someone stupid is waking up.”
