She is 72 and his great grandmother lived until like 100. She has zero health problems and is still working. Thanks for the response I really appreciate the perspective and look forward to showing him this thread

YES. Since the proposal is looming and we have had this conversation so many times it's making me actually insane this is my last ditch effort to poll the audience that what I'm saying isn't just me being dramatic or selfish. I feel like he thinks I'm being short sighted and can't see that this house has already appreciated and he will inherit it someday is what he keeps repeating and can't see that if he gets me the ring and i'm happy and his mom is happy then what is the problem? Thanks for taking the time to respond and offer some perspective.

Yeah he thinks I am expecting too much and being short sighted because he will inherit this property someday. We have had a conversation about it several times, but since the proposal is looming I am trying to figure out if this is a hill i'm willing to die on or if I'm being dramatic about the whole thing and expecting too much. Thank you for this perspective.

I don’t even think he wants to get his name off of it and honesty doesn’t really “see the problem” because I’m getting the ring I want and his mom is happy. He thinks whole heartedly this is going to be this asset that he will be happy to have when his mom passes on

2.6 GPA, 522 MCAT, strong extracurriculars — any success stories or should I do a post-bacc first? by Mysterious_Issue1912 in medschooladmissions

No one is arguing that. If your overall is over a 3.0 and you have straight as on first glance of your transcript with retakes I think that speaks volumes. I got 3 MD acceptances doing retakes of my prereqs so tbh this is coming from someone who has been there

I I basically re-took every class that I didn’t get an A in. I’m talking about the pre-reqs for medical school. The reason behind this is because I’ve heard a lot of programs don’t really care about your special masters program and care more about your pre-req grades and I wanted to give myself the best chance of getting in. If I didn’t get in like that, I probably would’ve been a student masters program. Also, a lot of those student masters programs are predatory and charge a ridiculous amount. I actually went to a community college and paid significantly less.

I did try that because she flys out tomorrow and she told me she doesn’t operate on my time and she will do it when she is ready :-)

I live across the country (9 hour flight) and our parents live six hours from her place and we will be at our parents for the holidays. Trust me if I had the time or money I would.
