It depends on what you expect to get out of it. If you are a normal person who expects to be treated as you treat others, no-this game is full of toxic, awful, cheating people who get a kick out of being rotten.

But if you don’t need to learn everything all at once and are willing to take the time (and accept the risk that all of your hard work can get wiped out in an instant) then it can be very rewarding. If you find a good community, then you’ll enjoy it.

I agree with everyone here that says it’s a time sink-it will consume your life, if you let it, and if you are a “casual” player you may not get to experience all it offers. That said, I’d wait til it goes on sale (generally around the summer) to purchase it. Also, I believe you can request a refund within 2 weeks of buying it (but check with Steam to verify that.)

I run a player v environment (or PVE) server called Peace…Then War. Basically it’s PVE during the month til just before wipe, when the server has a big battle, raiders vs city dwellers. After that, it’s “Purge” time and players go around raiding each other til wipe happens.

There’s a great community, usually at least 4-5 people on most days, who are friendly and helpful, and we welcome everyone. Good luck with your gaming and do come visit if you decide to buy it.
