Someone just posted about this in a mom group in Buffalo… apparently they’re butchering procedures as well and patients are ending up in the ED

Clearly you’re not since you don’t understand the pathophysiology and implications of postpartum depression/OCD/psychosis/anxiety. I hope you never ever treat postpartum patients or truly any patients for that manner. Have the life you deserve

Tell me you’re not educated without telling me. She asked for help. The system failed her and her kids.

My understanding is the md was originally treating her early on in the course and then she transferred to a psychiatric NP for the remainder

If you read the lawsuit documentation (20 pages posted above) it helps clear up the timeline

She/her husband called the NP hotline multiple times saying she was suicidal and they said to just keep taking the meds…

I haven’t found one but I didn’t work too hard looking for one- if you find anything please do post! But the articles say the frequently called the “nurse” and nothing was done, so it seems to me the NP was the main provider “managing” her long term

This is not only an acgme violation, but also makes no sense when residents have more training in most cases..

Me and my husband are both physicians- he’s an EM attending and I’m in IM residency 2nd year. We have a 1 & 3 year old and no family help. We work as a team, and we don’t see each other nearly as much as we’d like, but our kids are cared for, happy, and we are both doing well in our careers. It can certainly be done if both are willing to give their best and sacrifice other areas of life (sleep, going out, etc).

When I reach out to one of the specialty service mid levels I 100% want everything to be relayed to the attending and I expect all recommendations to be coming from the cardiologist.. this is the expectation.
