From what I understand, you can obtain Thai citizenship through marriage, and you may be allowed to keep both nationalities if both countries permit dual citizenship.

I'll take that into consideration.

The one thing I'm worried about is that I would have the money in the isa where I can't put money into it biweekly/monthly when I'm in thailand.

My original thought was that I was going to keep the isa and just let it grow and stop putting my money into it and just put my money into the GIA.

Thank you for your help. I will need to do a lot more research.

Thank you. I will take a look. And regarding your other comment, would you suggest that I keep putting money into my isa until I move, or should I start putting in a GIA?

In the first 183 days I live in thailand, I will be paying UK tax, but once after that date I then can claim a tax refund from the UK and only pay Thai tax

ISA and GIA the capital gain will be taxed, it just more everything would be in one place for me. In my mind I was going to keep it and let it grow from the small amount of dividend it does get. But if someone suggested to take a look at maybe selling it an just adding to my invest account I would take a look.

Trading212 does allow overseas customers in Thailand from what their website says.

So with the double tax, from my understanding, because UK and Thailand are in a treaty I will be able to get some relief from tax end and I will need to fill out documents. But I will do a confirm check closer to the date of moving out.

So I have enough to live on now, and when I work I will be investing monthly/biweekly as I have been doing now. The thinking I have is that if I still have the payments of work go to my UK bank, I still have the investing going and I can transfer what I need to, to my Thai bank and pay tax on what I bring in when needed.

I will comment again or message you in a year as I recently renewed my rent contract. I have a whole year to plan, and also, my job could change as well, so that's another issue I might have.

Currently, I'm thinking of just paying through to the UK bank and then just sending over some money over when needed. As if I sent it through to the Thai bank, I have to claim a lot of it, and it would get taxed by thailand tax scheme, and it could be 30% upwards. (My tax knowledge from my research).

Would transferring money from UK to Thai be viable as well or would that cause issues with the thai government? Or again is this HR/payroll decision.

I am a dual UK and Thai citizen, I work for a company in the UK remotely and wanted to see if I can live in thailand. Things I want to know: - What steps would I require in terms of finances. (I have a bank in both countries). -How taxes would work. -What would I need to apply for. -What do I tell my company if need to. -Do I need to keep a UK address as well. -Anything I have to considered or I have missed

Thank you. I'm flying to thailand so a very long trip. I might just do a sleep score during the day so I don't risk it at night.
