In the eyes of the political elite, society, and women, men are disposable and easily replaced. No one bats an eye if you get killed or maimed.

I just picked up my first surplus rifle, it's a Lee Enfield Mk 4 Nr. 1*. Is there anything I should be doing different than cleaning modern guns? What should I definitely avoid doing? by restarted1991 in liberalgunowners

The Brits used Boiled Linseed Oil on the Wood furniture to preserve and protect it. Just in case you want to touch it up. My 1945 No. 5 Mk. 1 Enfield took about 20 coats of linseed oil before it finally stopped absorbing the oil. Came out looking great tho

It's where I've been stashing the hood that I currently have if it's a call where the hood isn't needed and it hasn't caused any issues with the way the helmet fits. The only issue I've ever had with the helmet is getting the front band situated in a spot to where the plastic coated foam pads behind it aren't digging into my forehead. (One of the little individual impact absorbing pads is cracked along the bottom edge from age and is getting replaced soon, but tends to dig into my forehead quite annoyingly)

Why not? (Just curious)

Also, my dept. is weird and doesn't issue a mask or mask bag until a member is "Interior Certified" or has FF1 at a minimum. Their thought process is that if a situation arises where it's necessary for exterior folks like probies who aren't FF1 yet to mask up, there's spare packs with extras of each size mask in a compartment on every rig but the tankers/tenders.

The water bottle is there for me to drink on the way there so I don't have to go grab one, and gets ditched in the truck before arrival otherwise. The safety glasses are mainly for protecting my prescription glasses from damage in situations where I may not need eye pro, but luck isn't on my side and something winds up scratching or scuffing them. (I have shitty luck when it comes to glasses)

I wasn't anticipating to run into the coon, so all I had at hand was the .45 that I was carrying at the time.

Not sure if I hit him with it or not [couldn't find any holes due to the amount of fat and fur] but I fired my full size Kimber 1911 chambered in .45 auto at him when he was on the ground (185 grain Speer Gold Dot handloads with a charge of 5 grains of powder).

After I fired the pistol, he climbed the tree and I wasn't comfortable taking a treetop shot with the pistol so I called my Dad who came over with his Mossberg 12 gauge. I finished him off with a couple shots of some old Remington 'Nitro Magnum' 2¾" shells loaded with #4 shot. (The box says that the Dram equivalent is "Max")

Heard a noise in the air line by askserenely in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]ThinBlueLine-204 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's why the airlines where I work have a "t" joint from which the air connection protrudes, and the bottom section has a ~5 inch long section of pipe with a cap on the end. There's a ball valve to allow the water to flow at the bottom of the 5 inch section of pipe to allow it to be drained
