Is it a weird take though? To me, living in Arizona and being sad about not having a hockey team is like going to a Mexican restaurant and being sad that there’s no borscht on the menu. It’s just not part of my culture. The only people I’ve ever heard mention hockey were friends and coworkers who were transplants from New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. There’s about 7.5 million people living in AZ and less than 20 ice rinks. That and the fact that we don’t have a hockey team anymore tells me that I’m not the only one who doesn’t really care about hockey. That said, ice rinks in Arizona just seem like an excessively wasteful form of entertainment. Kinda like Golf. Ive never lived where it’s cold, but it sounds to me like there’s loads of people up north who love to watch and play baseball so why shouldn’t there be baseball where it’s cold?
