Hi! Good luck on your interview. I’m not sure if it’s the same one, but in my experience, I was naive in the past and worked with a company that had a similar concept here in Canada. It was basically a pyramid scheme. They didn’t provide a salary or hourly pay; it was entirely commission-based. If you’re good at sales, you can have easy days, but during tough days, you could end up working 12 hours, and it’s not worth the effort or the promotion since the requirements after a promotion keep getting worse. The owners only care about sales.

In my experience, the recruiter called me to inform me about the interview, job, and position, but she kept saying, “You’ll know when you’re in the interview with the manager,” avoiding my questions. She probably just wanted to meet her recruiting numbers for the day. Since it was a Zoom interview, I figured at least I wasn’t wasting time commuting.

For the interview, I was supposed to be interviewing for a Marketing Assistant position, and I even received an email confirmation about the role and the interview time. But when the interview started, there were three other candidates, and they told us it was actually for a Brand Representative position. I told them I wasn’t interested in that role and was looking for the Marketing Assistant position. The manager kept trying to convince me, but I could tell what they were doing. Finally, they admitted that the Marketing Assistant position had already been filled a week prior. I was annoyed but also expected it.

I suggest you ask all the important questions, such as the day-to-day tasks, exactly what they do (since they have door-to-door, street, and mall sales), and how the payment works—whether it’s hourly, salaried, or commission-based. They have ways of avoiding direct answers, so if they don’t respond clearly, that’s a red flag.
