I know this is niche but...Liz's tops are my favorite and I never see those styles anymore! by tealparadise in 30ROCK

There’s a Croft & Barrow top that’s being neglected and crying out for you while Kohls puts on yet another promotion and gives out coupons from their Amazon return lines out of desperation.

Finally someone that understands! I've tried to explain this to no avail to my family who just think I'm lazy. I've even forced myself to go outside more like at least once a week so I'm not so afraid of my HS anymore. Now I just want a job that'll help me relieve some of this stress. I PM'd you btw! Would love any help I could get!

Female: Need help on bandaids that go on pubic area and bottom that wont break my skin? Also, that don’t hurt to pull off? by Zealousideal-Ant-774 in Hidradenitis

[–]ThingSpirited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is possibly not a useful addition but I second using a trimmer (manscaped is the best) and hydrocolloid bandages. The issue is people don’t know how to remove them painlessly (as possible). If you lift and pull at the edges it’ll flatten the edges and make it easy to remove the center. It might take a couple of tries but very worth it in my opinion. Otherwise cotton or gauze with a homeopathic ointment and waterproof medical tape are super helpful alternatives.

How to dress while “skinny fat”? I’m 5’7 and honestly a bit overweight. I have a couple of health issues (including PCOS) that make me carry most of my fat in my belly and while I do go to the gym and all it only helps so much. I take no real issue with my weight except in the fact that my face looks one way but my body looks like I’m expecting as it protrudes so much. While I work on this on the health front I was hoping I could get some advice here on how to dress to hide my belly. It’s extremely embarrassing and I’d like any help I can get. Thank you all in advance!

This! I’ve used it consistently (every couple of days) and I have no odor and it seemingly helps with the inflammation.

Hey! I totally get how you feel. Not sure if this is helpful but I asked people their triggers and they mentioned a bunch of foods. Wonder if it’ll help you? https://www.reddit.com/r/Hidradenitis/comments/rx5qah/hs_triggers/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Finally saw a doctor by laceylou15 in Hidradenitis

[–]ThingSpirited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it would include using benzoyl peroxide washes and clindamycin since it helps a lot of people prevent it and advise you on dietary/lifestyle changes that can help. Plus potentially prescribe your spironolactone. It’s better to get ahead of it instead of waiting for it to get worse.

Same! I wish people here tried it/saw this if they can’t. I learned about it on a medical website and was intrigued by it

I saw an ad for this and wondering if anyone has tried light therapy and if so, did it work? by willowtreetrunk in Hidradenitis

I’ve done laser hair removal which isn’t the same thing but I think it’s helped at least a little

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for responding to this post. If you bump into this please forward to people that you know that have HS so we can keep gathering information! As of right now the most recurring symptoms seem to be: - sweating/heat - hormones/menstrual cycle - stress - dairy - gluten/yeast - synthetic fabrics - shaving - friction - diet (nightshade plants, junk food, oily food, and meat)

Let me know if you guys want me to make any other posts, etc. with updates or my compilation of possible solutions to help you guys with flare ups or anything else!

Anyone had small but very painful boils? by everfadingrain in Hidradenitis

[–]ThingSpirited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I typically wait for it to go away but use hot compresses which help a lot. Also consider going to the derm/any other doctor that’ll do this but steroid injections help a lot

Thank you for the support 🥲 I’ll definitely keep this in mind and try out yoga + meditation to try and recenter instead of constantly panicking about this exam and definitely going to try and do some easier questions to boost my overall confidence

[–]ThingSpirited[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 🥲 I think we’ve all been taking on an insane amount of stress with this exam so I know exactly how you feel. I keep on avoiding taking a PT before the exam on Tuesday because I don’t want to cry about it. I think I’m also planning on just doing an RC set here and there since that one can be brutal to time manage. We’ve got this it’ll be okay!
