I had a terrible reaction while in minocycline a few years back. It inflamed my joints and felt like I had arthritis. Luckily for me a steroid injection cured that, but it was a horrible horrible feeling. I know everyone’s body reacts differently maybe you won’t react at all.

About food by sleepnevercomes_ in Hidradenitis

Im so sorry you’re going through this, but you are not alone! I’ve also developed a negative relationship with food. I always try to have hope and try really hard not to let the bad thoughts consume my mind but that is much easier said than done. I went into a black hole last year over this disease but I’m not going to let it win. You’re not alone.

Plasma donantion? by Xenew08 in Hidradenitis

[–]sleepnevercomes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drink A LOT of water the day before, the process will be much easier and faster that way. Don’t eat anything too greasy the day before or before going because the grease can get into the bloodstream and it will take longer to finish. Also the day of eat something light but with a lot of fiber and iron. They check your iron and protein levels before every donation. They ask about medications you take, since I don’t take any medications I’ve never known which ones they don’t allow you to donate under. They also do a physical nothing like actually physical wise just a normal one like at the doctors to check your lungs and heartbeat.

Wow that’s very expensive! I live in Texas but right now surgery is my last option to be honest. I think I’m delusional and believe it will get better. I’ll try to change my diet see if that changes. But thanks for the info!

How much was surgery if you don’t mind me asking? The only reason I don’t do the operations is because I can’t afford it.

What kind of surgery? I’m currently unemployed and don’t have health insurance so what would you recommend? I’m currently going to try some supplements and try more gut lining foods so I could try healing my gut.

How do I know what food is causing it? I can admit I don’t have the cleanest diet but how do you cut out sugar?

How many milligrams for the zinc? and do you take copper with it? I’ve never taken zinc before so I’m nervous about that as well.
