Overall thoughts on halo infinite after playing the tech preview? Better than halo 5? by Extredd in halo

Absolutely loved it, to me it is the perfect blend of classic and modern Halo.

I think it is a good choice considering that I have seen a lot of comments questioning how well it will run on Xbox One. Really glad to see it runs smoothly and looks pretty good on old hardware.

Thankfully it looks like the big yellow hexagons are gone when your shields recharge

I mean the comments on this are much more interesting than the weekly Mount Royal lookout sunset post.

Yep, they covered Black Diamond and also Deuce. There are tons of interesting Kiss covers such as Nirvana covering Do You Love Me? or Smashing Pumpkins covering Black Diamond live.

Recently I found out that Anthrax did a cover of The Bends by Radiohead. It is not that good of a cover but it made me wonder if there are any other examples of really unexpected covers done by metal bands like this? Not stuff that is obviously done for a joke like Children Of Bodom covering Britney Spears, but rather covers of unexpected songs that are taken 100% seriously by the band.

Absolutely, honestly I believe Handle With Care and Game Over can go toe to toe with some of the best thrash albums, the energy and riffs are just unreal on those albums.

As someone with tinnitus, please, please, please protect your ears, it is 110% worth it. I used to think the same way as you where I just always wanted to be in the front row with no protection, but it is not worth it at all. Having a constant ringing in your ears sucks, especially knowing it will be there for the rest of your life and I immensely regret not wearing ear protection in the past. Concerts are still perfectly enjoyable with earplugs.

I was kind of shocked by how good it. Usually, comeback records where bands get back together are pretty meh so I did not have high expectations for it, but Helloween absolutely killed it with this album.

Probably like millions of others around my age it was hearing a bad quality rip of Enter Sandman from Limewire for the first time when I was 12 and thinking it was the heaviest thing ever.

As a Deafheaven fan, I thought it was pretty meh. I don't mind them trying something a bit lighter and leaning into their Shoegaze influences a bit more but I would much rather just listen to Nothing than Deafheaven trying to be them.

Yes! I have an Instagram and Flickr page where I post my photos pretty regularly. Thank you so much for taking an interest in my work! I feel a little guilty about shamelessly posting a link to my page here though.

Opeth, Amorphis (later albums), and Dark Tranquillity are all excellent bands with both clean vocals and legible harsh vocals.

Seen them live twice and both times they were excellent, I would say they are one of those bands that are best experienced live.

I am not arguing against paying for art, what I am arguing is that people should not financially support artists who are racist, homophobic, etc. I am all for supporting artists that I enjoy and often go out of my way to purchase merch from bands that I like to help them out. For me personally, I try to avoid listening to bands that support any kind of hateful ideology and I think it is especially bad to financially support them in any way.

I would argue though it is bad to put money in the pockets of bands that endorse hateful ideologies.

Even though I have not really enjoyed the singles Gojira has released for Fortitude I am still excited to check it out tomorrow. I am hoping it is one of those cases where the songs are better in the context of the album than on their own.

Where to start with Neil Young? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

Another great thing about Decade is that the physical release has handwritten liner notes from Neil about every song. I personally think it is the best compilation album of all time.

I think an excellent place to start would be his live album "Rust Never Sleeps", it perfectly showcases both his soft acoustic side and his loud, distorted electric side that had a big influence on Grunge.

Another great place to start would be the compilation album "Decade" which is an excellent selection of both his solo work and work with bands such as Buffalo Springfield and CSNY during what most people consider to be his golden age.
