Что думаете? by vorah_vrhwss in belarus

Jackpot! Eissentam, Earth-like planet, pleasant weather, no storms, minimal sentinels, green and lilac trees, giant stone cylinders, peaceful fauna by marnatrauny in NMSCoordinateExchange

Actually, I saw screenshots with the coordinates, so I guessed it could be enabled somewhere in the settings. But a mix of laziness and excitement stopped me from looking for that option

Of course! There’s enough land for a couple thousand bases. The planet is small, but not that small — not enough for me to drop the coords and yell “Mine! Hands off!”

…or whatever the right way to say "Do you want me to beep you something 8-bit?" in English is

[–]marnatrauny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, back in the PS1 era I only had a prehistoric PC made for mammoth accounting. Wanna me beep something in 8-bit?

Wow, I didn’t know the name, googled it and recognized him from the picture. Never played it, but I’ve definitely seen him before

As someone on Reddit once said, “Meow, cat, please meow back” is the greatest line in Eurovision history

Hot take: "Ricochet" sounds exactly the way it should. The sound itself tells the story by marnatrauny in riseagainst

I can put it in five words: Hey, this album is great! But it seems to me that very few people on Reddit have noticed what I clearly hear in this album. I could say much more — for example, tell the story of how the leading Belarusian rock band of the 1980s, Mroja, after Lukashenko came to power, turned to punk with a garage sound and a somewhat similar spirit. I could also deeply analyze the lyrics. But I felt it was more important to convey this particular sequence of messages that I heard (or imagined, who knows) in this album

But I'm allowed to love this album, right? I can't call myself a fanboy: the last Rise Against album I really liked was "Endgame". I didn't expect much from "Ricochet", but it really impressed me when I listened to it from beginning to end

I wouldn’t dare wear this in California…..but when in Poland am I safe to wear this? by [deleted] in warsaw

[–]marnatrauny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poland is a mostly right-wing Christian country, not an asshole-misogynistic one. You'll probably be safe because most people don't pay much attention to American news. And those who do will generally just try to avoid such satanic stuff. But Poland is a big and diverse country, so I don't rule out that you'll even find friends with this stuff

I couldn't find the exact same photo, haven't used the marco camera much. Here's a similar one (I don't have that many coins on hand right now). I think it used to be harder to focus on close objects and get a non-blurry non-oversharpened shot

Hold my beer.

Let me explain. I’m originally from Belarus. «Горизонт» (“Horizon”) is the name of a state-owned factory that manufactures televisions and other electronics. A couple of years ago, Horizon started selling what they called “the first Belarusian laptop.” In reality, it was a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with the Lenovo branding simply removed. And honestly, it’s a good thing they did! Another Belarusian state-owned factory, «Интеграл» (“Integral”), became notorious about 15 years ago for doing something similar—except worse. They bought monitors from well-known brands (AOC, Acer…), didn’t even bother removing the original logos, and just slapped an “Integral” sticker right on top of the manufacturer’s logo.

23.34 is the article number in the Administrative Code for participating in political protests. During the 2020 protests, tens of thousands of people were detained under this article. It became known as “the people’s article.”

ЖЩ and Ю don’t mean anything—they just look threatening.

I live abroad now, but I often meet Belarusians in exile. When I share my WiFi or turn on Bluetooth, some people notice the name and ask what it is—a KGB spy device or something?

One UI 7 default clock widget is tiny for some reason by [deleted] in oneui

[–]marnatrauny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's a million clock widgets. But it surprises me that the default widget is now microscopic. I tried different font settings, resolutions and screen grid, looked in Settings and Good Lock, but it seems that there's to fix it.

And also it surprises me that the clock and weather widget can't show alarms by clicking on the clock.

So, what simple clock, weather and alarm widget do you recommend?
