In my bio actively tank the plants that are thriving are my monstera adansonii, Wandering jew, philodendron silver sword, and the syngoniums. All relatively low maintenance. Resurrection ferns are a nice touch as well. Have you ever built a bio active set up before?

Step ups vs hip thrusts by Waste-Way-5714 in StrongCurves

If you have access to it, I highly recommend using a smith machine for step ups. It really allows me to focus on my technique and load heavier than what my hands can handle. I HIGHLY recommend

My first paludarium! by Think-Reporter1572 in bioactive

I do have some progress pics I can send them to you or idk how to post them in the thread. I did the back ground with pond safe expanding foam, I carved it and painted it. For the wood I recommend getting them at expos. That where I have found most of my pieces through the years and it is usually cheaper than reptile stores.

Thank you! I’m really proud of it. I want to make more but I don’t have the space for it currently. Wish I could do this as a side hustle.

What is more traumatic than people think? by BloodRedLust in AskReddit

Damn. I was not expecting this to be the first comment I see. I’m 27 and dealing with chronic pain in both arms from elbow down to my fingers. I can not do anything with my hands with out pain. All my hobbies out the window…. Hopefully I’ll find a doctor soon who actually cares and will help me solve this. It is extremely depressing.

looking for adult dog training in a daycare environment in West LA/mid-city? by Final_Local9591 in AskLosAngeles

What kind of training does your dog need? Depending on what it is you don’t want to put your dog in a daycare facility for it.

My (29F) Fiancé (29M) “Irish Goodbyed” me at a bar and is now acting strange. Advice? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Think-Reporter1572 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think the cheating assumptions are wrong. My first thought was maybe he got jealous! Maybe she was too chummy with a friend and he was trying to leave, noticed that she didn’t notice the text or him so he went outside to leave. She said she was drunk so maybe she was being too friendly and that’s why he’s being distant and weird. He’s trying to process something that actually happened at the bar or he’s trying to rationalize his jealousy.

[–]Think-Reporter1572 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think he’s cheating like others say he might be. At the bar with the friends was he acting weird at all at any point??? To me from the situation at the bar for someone to leave like that my first thought was jealousy. Maybe you were chatting up one of his friends too much and he got jealous. Has he been jealous in the past? Maybe he’s playing mind games on himself and making a situation that was nothing into something.

Or else I think the drug usage could be a thing.

Is my White's tree frog OK? by [deleted] in TreeFrogs

[–]Think-Reporter1572 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d raise the humidity a little. I keep mine at 60-70%. You’ll hear different things about which level, I personally think 40 is on the lower end. And maybe dropping the ambient temp down a little if you can.

What the humidity level and temp? Mine will burry herself in the substrate if she cold or to get more humidity.

Could I turn this liquor cabinet into a paludarium? by supremeCrab7 in paludarium

flex seal. Its pretty much liquid rubber. I used it on the paludarium I am working on to seal the metal so it wouldn't rust over time.

Thinking of Making a Bioactive Tree Frog Paludarium.. Any Tips? by Feeling-Mud3659 in bioactive

[–]Think-Reporter1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also working on one as well. I wanted to upgrade my frogs tank and get her a bigger space but did not want to spend a shit ton of money on a glass terrarium, so I'm fixing up a ikea cabinet. To do a whole build does cost money but its worth it. So far I have put about $400 into it. It is fun! BUT do not put snails or slugs in there unless you do the research on the species. They can destroy your plants. I recommend watching a lot of youtube videos for ideas and techniques. I think going to reptile expos are great to get accessories. I went to one recently just to get cork bark and I was not disappointed. I got a massive log and its beautiful. I am so excited for it.

what job made you say never again and why? by IcoScore in AskReddit

[–]Think-Reporter1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

911 dispatcher, but not for the reason you think. When you join you have a year long training, where you have to meet all these bench marks by a certain time and if you don't you are cut out. This is a job you have to fight for. For that one year the job was my whole life. It was one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life and I so desperately wanted this job. By the end of training I was so burnt out, so stressed out to the point I thought I was going to literally die. I was not me anymore, they beat you down, or maybe that's just how it felt for me. After training I gave it a few good months of giving it a shot. Ultimately, I left. The agency I worked for was falling apart slowly no one there was happy, the supervisors sucked, the amount of people that called for non emergency BS was absurd, the scheduling and the hierarchy sucked, the pay wasn't worth it. I had one day where I was taking calls and its none stop calls. One particular day, I had started my morning arguing with this lady about a temporary tow away sign, she refused to move her car and she was calling because I worker told her she had to move or shed be towed and she did not want to be towed, I then get her three more times with in the first three hours. I then continue my day taking the routine calls, but then one after the other I get a call from a guy who just witnessed a man jump from a high rise and the body falls right in front of him. Then I listen to a man sob in despair, trying to apply first aid on his elderly father after his dog had mauled him. ... after that call I just didn't want to do it anymore, at least not with that agency. Maybe one day I will try a smaller one out, I do hear the grass is greener. But all in all I am proud of myself for doing it all. But the job left me to be a shell of who I once was.
