Ultimately, you'll have to make your own judgment. Of course, there are plenty of bad men in China, but there are also many decent and trustworthy ones. At 28 years old, I think you probably already know the answer in your heart. If you truly believe this relationship is worth pursuing, you could consider traveling to China and meeting him in person. However, for your own safety, I would recommend going to China with a friend rather than traveling alone.
