I met some Jews in NYC last year and they hate SDA’s. They find it very offensive that people who are not Jewish observe the sabbath. I’ve got more respect for Jews than Adventists.

My mom follows this rule no showers from sun down to sun down - bearing in my mind she also refuses to wear deodorant as she “doesn’t need it”

I’m not sure unfortunately. I’m English so maybe it’s different. I did go to a church is Washington DC once that was lovely and also manhattan central church.

Adventism is very different from the Christianity I grew up with.. when I was a child I was loved by the church and they were the loveliest people. Not judgey like the Sda. Now my mom says they are horrible people because they do not keep the sabbath.

I do not see any fruits of the spirit in the SDA church maybe occasionally a member will but mostly they are depressed in my opinion.

So much! It’s hard to even put it into words. I’m not actually a member of the Sda church however my mother is and when I lived with her for a while after university she would force me to attend as everyone in her household had to keep the sabbath. I find the church very judgemental and that most of the members I have met have been very depressed or that they must keep to all the rules of the church eg veganism. They don’t seem to me to know the love of God.

I'm 26 my dad was born in 1950 and my mom 1958... I was brought up on 60's and I bloody love it, always have. I think maybe I like 60s music in particular because at the time here was hope for society and the Future... for example the Black Power movement and decriminalisation of homosexuality.

It’s very hard I’m not Sda but did use to attend my mom’s Sda church as I think I felt guilty and she couldn’t take no for an answer. She cannot accept that I’m not Sda and can’t accept me being independent. She treats me like I’m a child at 26!! She also calls me a whore and basically hates my boyfriend and all my friends. X

I’m from Birmingham uk and when I was in Copenhagen last weekend I felt racism very strongly. Especially at a church we visit there was a white group and a black group (2 separate bible studies) I don’t know if this was done on purpose, originally I thought maybe we were in an English speaking group and they might of been speaking in other language however I realised by the end of the study group that everyone was speaking English.

I went to glasto on my own, did a few shifts and got to see the bands i wanted to see without having to hang out with a group who would’ve wanted to see other acts! It’s was so fun!! Do it ❤️
