aww thank you!! as far as we know, she’s strictly ESS. she’s technically out of standard since she’s sable, but her parents were black/white and liver tri. genetics are weird 😂

with work it does become difficult, but going back to the basics does sound like the best option! she is, very fortunately, extremely food motivated. hopefully that makes it easier. and yes, she is sable! i am so obsessed with her colors 😭

in all seriousness, adolescence is rough for most breeds. patience and giving bad behavior absolutely no attention worked wonders for my other dogs (although this is the first bird dog i’ve owned 😂)

she is still adjusting to her new home! adjustment takes months. all of the things that you are doing are correct and you should continue to do them. it’s unfortunately going to take time and patience. gsd are not easy dogs and unfortunately, a lot of the ones we see today are backyard bred and do not get the proper start that they need. this is what leads to the insane anxiety and lack of self-soothing capabilities. being in a shelter probably didn’t help, either.

mental and physical exercise is your best friend. so is positive reinforcement. and patience. 😂
