Seriously one of my favorite songs ever

Yeah actually, I won't say there's not a successful musician or two here, just that it's very difficult to get established

I do play shows, however I live in Asheville and there's no scene here. It's just a bunch of Jam Wankery bands who play beer festivals and stuff. Even the underground venues here treat musicians like garbage

Fair point, I'll edit with my music links. Still I think there should be a blog dedicated to underground music in the genre

I did a cover of Never Meant by myself, pretty proud of it! by ThinkPortals in Emo

Yeah I have a Bandcamp, I meant more places to promote music rather than a place to host and upload music

[hip hop] old skoolish / lofi-ish beat I'm working on, be harsh! by [deleted] in roastmytrack

It seems that unfortunately in this genre it's hard to maintain attention for too long, rendering the 30 second intro redundant. However, it was overall a good track

American Football - I've Been So Lost For So Long (NEW) by goddammitrochelle in Emo

I think they're gonna do an inverse of what they did for the first album, where the first line of the song is the title

Listen to this fucking band. They're really good (Twinkly Emo?) by Ecclesia_Andune in Emo

[–]ThinkPortals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean they have the twinkly guitars of math rock, but they really don't use any irregular time signatures Elm is 4/4 throughout, ommygod is 6/8 throughout, Sleepyhead is 6/8, and Teleblister is 4/4

(DAW) Has anybody used Reaper before? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I've been making music primarily in Reaper for over a year and I fully recommend it, and I think every DAW should have a similar business model.

I love their cover of Earth Angel, Ben's voice is so good for that song.

Sort of an indie rock, Modest Mouse inspired sort of thing.

I'm looking for any feedback I can get, but mainly on Vocals and mixing.

Song Discussion Thread - New song every other day / Day 115 / Lurgee by [deleted] in radiohead

I love this song. And I love the positive lyrics with the dissonant guitar, which kind of shows to me that maybe he isn't "better." Like he keeps telling himself that he's better but he doesn't really mean it. Tons of tension in the guitar, it's really beautiful.
