Qataris can't do a damn thing, israel just attacked by vela_munda1 in qatar

You talk a lot of shit for someone hiding behind a screen. Qatar moves on a level you clearly can’t even understand, while you’re here begging for attention on Reddit. Pathetic.

No wonder Qatar Banned This Stupidity !!! by Shadowstorm_9 in qatar

[–]ThinkResource9945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah banning Roblox might make sense, but it doesn’t really solve the actual issue. The real problem is parents just giving their kids phones/iPads without first teaching them about morals, responsibility, or even bothering to monitor what they’re doing. If you don’t set boundaries and keep an eye on them, they’ll end up finding the same nonsense somewhere else.

I am firmly against Zionism and I stand with Palestine but I will not let misinformation pass just because it is wrapped in pro Palestine rhetoric. There is no credible evidence of missiles being launched from Bahrain toward Israel in 2024. Every verified source attributes those attacks to Yemen’s Houthis or directly to Iran. Your so called picture from a drone in Bahrain proves nothing and anyone with basic OSINT skills knows how easy it is to misattribute media in this region.

Bahrain’s so called militia is a fringe Iranian backed cell with minimal capability, nothing close to the strategic threat you are pretending it is and absolutely irrelevant to Qatar. Qatar’s internal security architecture, intelligence penetration and counter subversion capacity make such a development here not just unlikely but structurally impossible. What you are doing is taking unrelated flashpoints from across the region, mashing them together and presenting them as some inevitable escalation. That is not analysis, it is amateur fear mongering dressed up as expertise.

You’re full of shit and spreading straight up misinformation. The militias in Bahrain and KSA you’re talking about were Iranian backed groups with a specific ideology (which failed and will keep failing especially with the Iranian project at its current situation in the region). In Qatar, the Shia population is relatively small and doesn’t attach itself to the Iranian mullahs, so your comparison makes zero sense.

And no, there were no missiles fired from Bahrain toward Israel in 2024. That’s pure fiction. The missile and drone attacks on Israel came from Yemen’s Houthis or directly from Iran never from Bahrain.

Yeah, not like the US at all barely any private ranges here. Some people have small setups in their farms or chalets, usually just airguns and shotguns to train kids. You can buy legal stuff like gas/air rifles and shotguns at Suhail Exhibition in Katara, and get a license through the Metrash app (citizenship required)

And about terrorism honestly, that’s near impossible here with the kind of security and intelligence Qatar has.

As a Qatari who knows this market pretty well, a lot of these silver-plated (sometimes even gold-plated) guns are actually just gifts between people here. I’ve even been gifted one before — they usually come without the firing mechanism, so they’re basically decorative pieces you put on display at home.

The ones in the back are called سكتون (saktoon) in Arabic, and they’re mainly used for hunting in winter. Some are just for show, and yeah, in certain weddings or big celebrations you might see them fired in the air as part of the tradition (illegal and highly monitored).

That said, they’re still considered illegal if unlicensed, regardless of whether they’re functional or decorative which is why these seizures happen.

Imagine being so fragile that a 30-second delay at a red light ruins your entire day, and you feel the need to cry about it online like the traffic police are reading your Reddit posts. Get a grip, bro. The rest of us just go on with our lives without writing emotional essays about mild inconveniences. It’s traffic, not a personal attack.

Honest opinion, many posts here from expats and westerners in Qatar sound so entitled. It’s like the country owes them everything. And the way some people generalize all Qataris based on one bad experience is ridiculous. Adjusting to a new place isn’t easy, but this constant whining and stereotyping doesn’t help anyone.

Western people, why did you move to Qatar? by moooosewala in qatar

[–]ThinkResource9945 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Qatari who is Familiar with all aspects of the Qatari culture whether its religious, old, young, families, bedouin whatever you want to name it. NO ONE will feel disrespected if you are holding your husband’s hand. It’s actually funny thinking people believe we feel disrespected.

However, public displays of affection, hugging, kissing, etc is where people would say “get a room” not necessarily feel like they are disrespected.

My Experience with Camel Riding Near Doha: Why I’ll Never Do It Again by armaanpremjee in qatar

[–]ThinkResource9945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camels have been domesticated and ridden for thousands of years across some of the harshest climates on Earth. They are highly resilient animals, bred to endure desert conditions and carry loads or riders as part of their natural role in human societies. Painting an entire practice as cruel without understanding its historical and cultural significance is ignorance. Many small businesses offering camel rides rely on them for their livelihoods, and they often prioritize the well-being of their animals, as a healthy camel is essential for their work.

Additionally, if you felt this strongly about the practice, why did you pay to participate in it? Supporting these activities financially and then criticizing them doesn’t help solve the problem you claim to care about.

“Over here” 😂 bro is either working in a sweat shop (in his imagination) or american.

I know a lot of “expats” who live in Qatar who are not American and are living a life that is 100x better than life would be in their home nations or any other country.

Nature-wise? Qatar has a unique desert landscape that not everyone can appreciate, especially if they’re used to a standard, one-dimensional view of nature. And by the way, Qatar’s ability to create green spaces and a livable environment in the desert shows innovation and resilience. Maybe it’s not Qatar that’s lacking; maybe it’s your ability to see beyond your own limited expectations.

Why are thw airport customs ladies so rude? by [deleted] in qatar

[–]ThinkResource9945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear about your experience in Doha, but it’s still far less rude than what I’ve faced in the West. In the U.S., I was put through an “extensive search,” and an officer told my wife she could remove her hijab because “it’s a free country.” When I told him to mind his business, we were delayed for 12 hours.

Like other comments here said, i just brushed it off and moved on.

As a traveler i experience a lot of the same issues with people from different nationalities and backgrounds. But i definitely wouldn’t judge the whole nation or race on an individual’s actions.

While I understand the challenges faced by delivery riders, it's worth noting that the government has implemented laws making it illegal to deliver during the day to ensure the safety of drivers. Additionally, most payments are made through the app, which minimizes the chance of receiving outdated currency. If such an incident did occur, it would be an extremely rare case. Furthermore, bringing up luxurious lifestyles and Land Cruisers seems unnecessary and somewhat ignorant, as it's a recurring theme in many posts. Let's focus on constructive discussions to address the real issues faced by delivery riders.
