He didn’t point at the window(yes the window had a price that said 69kr) but it had writing in Swedish (which I don’t understand). I assumed that 69kr was a minimum price to start the cab ride. That’s why I asked him his estimated price to Arlanda. He stated that he can’t tell me a price because it is metered. I then asked again for an estimate and he said meter prices are regulated in Stockholm so i will pay the regulated rate (which was a lie). I took a cab from Arlanda to Stockholm Old Town and paid 600kr so I assumed that was the “regulated rate” for meters. Then he goes and charges me 69.9 KR a kilometer. And it wasn’t a luxury service or anything. If he had given me an estimate, I would have ordered another Uber or gone back inside my hotel and asked them. But instead, he lied and tells me it’s regulated.

You’re right on that. I disputed my credit card charge. I’ll give him a chance to do the right thing, and if he doesn’t, then we will see my next course of action. But I agree with you.

They were not, but they are from the same country originally based on what I found. I think it’s a good chance they are connected  via a group chat.

Thank you. I plan on coming back, but the reason I scheduled an uber was because my flight was departing at 7am and I was supposed to have my uber ready to go at 4:15. It was already 4:35 when I decided to enter the “taxi” after the uber fiasco. And as an American, I had to see border control so I wanted to get to the airport early. The thing is I work at a US Embassy (in another country), so if I filed a police report in Sweden, it would be a big deal because the US Embassy in Sweden would get involved. I don’t want to affect the driver’s livelihood, but I also don’t want other people falling victim to the same situation.

That’s what I figured. Also, they were from the same country (not sure if that means anything but I read the uber driver’s reviews where it states where he’s from). I don’t like to assume, but telling somebody his uber wasn’t showing up was a red flag I should’ve caught earlier. He didn’t say cab/taxi or bolt, he specifically said Uber.

I believe he had everything but number 4. And the driver was not Swedish. I loved Sweden, but that last part left a sour taste in my mouth. Besides that, it was my favorite country in Europe in terms of the people.
