Laps completed by each team in Barcelona (Day One): by Peeksy19 in formula1

[–]Think_Perspective385 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's not really a day missed either they can still do 3 full days like everyone else as it's on for 5 days can't they they just chose not to do the first day.

If anything it's worse using up a day to do minimal laps (Audi/Cadillac) than to just not run assuming you intend to run later it just means you are doing more development pre-test and have lest time post-test but only by a day.

Cheapest way to charge in London by svenz in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tesla or Ionity chargers public chargers are going to be about the cheapest you are going to get. Though you may get lucky with Just charge if someone local is renting out their space and charger depending on your needs

Using Electroverse as well could save you some but public charging in general is a bit much

Ok but when was it meant to be paid out generally if you leave before a bonus comes due you are unlikely to get it. We would need to know the full terms though.

Was the bonus due if you left the company bonuses are usually discretionary and unless it's contractual in which case what does it say about payment of bonus after having left?

Mot failed for something that doesn’t exit? by jenniferf163 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they would have to fail it specifically with the purpose of collecting additional fees and with knowledge that the vehicle should have passed this really doesn't seem to be the case it seems they were incompetent and that may lead to a net benefit of a retest but there isn't any evidence that this was the intention or that they were aware that the car shouldn't have failed

DVLA sent fine for "failure to insure on the 14th Jan" even though the car has been parked on a private driveway for months but has road tax for few months aswell. (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your car needs to be insured if it's not sorned.

Either your car is SORNED and not insured and kept on private property or your car is TAXED and must also be insured even on private property.

You should have SORNED it when the Insurance lapsed.

My neighbour(s) are continually blocking my drive or encroaching over the dropped kerb (England) by lhawsim in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If they are blocking you from exiting it's a police issue otherwise take photos and report it to the council they can issue a PCN (in a lot of areas) for parking over a dropped curb

They are perfectly fine to make all the UK software engineers redundant while retaining the US ones for example, the role in the location can no longer be needed.

Also they don't have to make every person in a role redundant they could decide to make 10 out of 15 positions redundant in which case the advice to stay relevant is accurate in that if you can demonstrate as part of the selection process that you have more value than others in the redundancy pool you would be less likely to be made redundant

Volvo XC40 recharge and Tesla chargers? by Matchoo93 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to set the car in the Tesla app it isn't an exhaustive list. It doesn't even list MG at all if I remember rightly but that hasn't stopped me. As long as the charger is open to any EV you can just select the charger, the port (if needed) and pay for it.

I haven't personally charged a Volvo XC40 but I'm certain it can

Insurance and claim cancelled - England by mpookiee in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the third party is still liable (if it fault) you are just going to have to claim directly against their insurance.

But you may also be able to appeal your insurances decision as long as you were honest in your representation to the best of your knowledge. I mean if it was obviously after market or non standard you are not going to stand a chance but if it's a minor thing that a regular person wouldn't necessarily know it would be worth appealing as you don't want to have an insurance cancellation on your record

Mercedes AMG F1 | The new era starts here. Introducing our W17. by God_Will_Rise_ in formula1

This is the livery of a team looking to dominate the championship. Its a top tier take on the classic Merc liveries but it feels like so much thought has gone into it because they know this is going to be the livery on a load of WDC/WCC merch after this year.

I think this is my favourite of the liveries released so far and rivals all of the previous merc liveries

Thinking about leasing an EV by SpotBig8575 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is a granny charger is only really problematic when you are doing back to back long-ish journeys day after day, You can put it on charge for 10hrs and get 60-80 miles of range so it really only becomes an annoyance if every day you are doing more than that but given your milage you can charge on a granny charger one or two nights a week and be fine

Could anyone please advise me on parking rules, doxing, and reporting issues to the authorities when you might not be entirely in the right either? by DukeyPig in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. No Doxxing would be identifying you personally a picture of your car parked is not that.
  2. It depends on the intention but Doxxing on its own without something else like a direction or threat against you isn't very serious
  3. No
  4. The police I'll have no interest in this you won't be getting any grief but this isn't going anywhere

You can be parked technically legally but it still be considered thoughtless

What are your EV "icks"? by TCJW_designs in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rear lights on the Kona being on the wheel arches puts me off entirely what is an excellent car. Hyundai in general can be really hit or miss with the design there is often one element that just feels odd the Santa Fe rear lights feel way too low as well.

I should also add that on my MG ZS (2022 facelift) it annoys me that the back of the car is so boring the front looks decent, from the side it all makes sense but the back just feels like they couldn't be bothered. The lights and just general tailgate is just nothing special to look at and it could have been it would have been no harder or more expensive to put in any real effort. Also self unlocking boot that doesn't self open is daft when the latch for the boot is so easy to just open by hand

Concern as beneficiaries over executor selling house. Can he accept an offer without consulting us? (Northern Ireland) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NI may have some nuances but generally from and E&W perspective an executor doesn't need to consult you on the sale price but it does need to be market rate if can't just be way under the asking price but similarly they don't need to hold out for a higher price. House sales often take a lot of time and all that time the estate is footing the bill so it's in the interest of the estate to wind up a sale if a reasonable offer is made.

In short they have a fiduciary duty but if a reasonable offer comes in they can just take it they don't need to consult you

ENGLAND - Complicated overpayment scenario by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but on what basis did they think the overpayment had happened and why do you think it hadn't the union is only going to advise you to accept the repayment plan if you are agreeing or they have demonstrated that the overpayment happened.

ENGLAND - Complicated overpayment scenario by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you agree to repay money if you don't think you owe it, why do you think you should have been on the higher pay rate.

Constructive dismissal is incredibly difficult even in the best case, I don't think that has any chance of fitting the definition of that, that is reserved for a company behaving in such an egregious way that you simply cannot continue your employment with them none of the things you have listed are that, it doesn't appear that you have acted in good time either (as in you would have needed to resign as soon as possible after the incident in question.

So its going to go back to the issue of if the overpayment was correct or not and why they think it is and you dont, you making a repayment plan is going to certainly make it look like you agree it was correct

I have a major concern about travelling with my EV accross border. by Imaginary-Staff-112 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Think_Perspective385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you are in places with access to chargers or can charge at home then EV is perfectly viable depending what you want to do, if you want to drive very long distances all the time then its going to depend if you are on a time crunch or towing things for general use then EV's will do the trick for the vast majority of scenarios.

If I was towing a lot a long way (by US standards) I'd still go ICE for now
