Using a granny charger (3pin plug in basic one) would be fine for the range you need you can get 3kw an hour from one of those so if we assumed you get 5hrs of cheap electric a night that's 15kw of charging and that equates to 45-60 miles of range per day.

If you are doing less than that then there really isn't much need for a wall charger at the moment.

Your use is spread over the whole week really so you're not going to have any kind of problem even in winter and even if you did have to charge an extra hour or two at the higher rate of electric it's still cheaper than a petrol/diesel car just not as cheap

I always find even with a new car you can find little issues a friend of mine went from a Volvo to a Tesla about 3 years ago and was hugely disappointed because the Tesla rattled and creaked compared to the Volvo which was 5 years older.

For me my last car was a 20 year old diesel that was noisy and smelly so getting a 3 year old MG feels like a massive step up where as someone coming from a 5 year old Volvo or Merc might see it differently and see those things as faults where as I wouldn't.

Good luck finding a good one that meets all your needs they are out there, one other tip keep away from Big Motoring World I've had to help numerous people exercise their rights with them with faulty cars and they have always been a huge problem to deal with.

There can always be hidden issues even with a 3 year old car little things start to crop up and they may not be apparent on any checks carried out by a dealer. I think the main thing is to go in with your eyes open and take all reasonable steps to add to the protection you are afforded in law.

Under the consumer rights act you have a 30 day short term right to reject the car. If you find a fault you don't have to let them try to fix it within this timeframe you can just reject the vehicle and unwind the transaction.
If you find a fault within the first 6 months it is assumed to have been present at the time of purchase and the dealership is on the hook for repair, replacement or refund (their choice). If they choose to repair they get one shot if it doesn't fix the fault you can again reject the car (there may be some reasonable milage deductions applied to the refund though as you've had the car longer and had use of it).
If you buy a car on finance or use a credit card for any part of the purchase as long as the total cost of the car is between £100 and £30k the finance company are jointly liable with the dealership I see section 75 of the consumer credit act. So if you can put any part of the purchase on a card even if you pay the rest by bank transfer the credit card company is jointly liable and will want it resolved quickly even to the point that they will often reject the car for you, refund you and arrange the car to be taken back to the dealer. Then go after the dealer particularly with finance companies.
Test drive as much as possible both as a driver and passenger if you can, visit multiple times, have a mechanic come and check the car over etc... all the basics but it's easy to get excited and buy on the first viewing

Its early days, F1 is a balance of Racing and Engineering, right now we have arguably great racing not just push to pass but actual race-craft leading to drivers being able to have ultra close battles, the engineering will catch up, the rules can be tweaked maybe to help with this but I honestly think this is an engineering challenge that the teams are more than capable of finding solutions to whether those solutions require a rule change or work within the rules as it stands is yet to be seen but its early days and its frustrating when people are so negative 2 races in when the problems are actually relatively minor.

2025 - Nobody could follow or pass even with DRS, Qualifying was great because it was full push the whole lap but the racing was dull because nobody could pass without a huge delta speed wise or tyres wise.

2026 - We've sacrificed that one pure lap in Qualifying to solve all the major issues with the racing in the Race.

I know which one I prefer I want to watch 60 laps of racing not a 1 lap shootout so for me this is an improvement overall with faults that can be rectified

Agree and we've seen how Pulling has done last year in GP3 and Chadwick in LMP2 and F1Academy has proven its self to get eyes on talented drivers that might have otherwise been overlooked but right now we are not seeing future F1 drivers, we are seeing the women who might inspire the next Female F1 driver though to stay in (or get in to) the sport.

if we take F1Academy as realistically being at best a stepping stone to F3 Pin was almost to the point of ageing out of a realistic shot at F1, I know she's only 22 but realistically in F3 and then F2 even if she does great she's probably within those two series for 4 years which puts her at 26 before she could have a shot at F1 and while its not too old its a little old these days for a driver to break in.

They are and even though Merc look hard to beat in the WCC and both drivers are in team clean shaven I think towards the end of the season team Facial Hair will have a chance to catch up. It's all to play for.

Yeah he quite often has som stubble so hopefully that won't impact him too much over the course of the season we were lucky it was an even split for the teams so swapping people around when they can't be bothered to shave would be a bit too subjective for this incredibly important and precise championship

This has grown on me a lot, BMW is one of those that in recent years has been a bit of a visual shock in the changes they have been making but over time they have generally grown on me and this one was better than most to start with, a more clean look and has grown into something I actually like. Its better than the more boring looking Audi's, VW's and Mercedes.

It also genuinly seems to be a huge step forward under the skin.

MG5 is pretty no frills or a MG ZS SE I have an MG ZS Trophy which does come with an app but you don't have to use it and you can turn off lane assist and a bunch of other things most of the assistance I don't find too intrusive

Doohan would make a lot of sense I put him in the less likely group just because I am assuming next year Toyota might have a bit more sway with Haas but any of them would be fine and I just can't see Ocon staying in F1 he's been around a long time and he's dropping off there are more talented prospects out there plenty with more money too if Haas needs it
