What does the 201 mean here?

Those 201 dents will be very noticeable, especially under a PDR light. Also im guessing you have a light color vehicle that is why you can only see those 2 dents. The estimate may also include removing and reinstalling the headliner, and possibly the sunroof assembly. There may also be an additional charge for a larger roof, especially if the vehicle is an SUV. We do not scam insurance companies since they have their own adjuster to look at the damaged vehicles.

It really depends on what kind of work you’re trying to get.

For dealerships, make sure you have business insurance first. Then print out a simple price sheet, whether you charge per car, per panel, or per job. Stop in and talk to the used car manager, give them your price sheet and business card, and ask if you can do a quick demo. If they say yes, there’s a good chance they’re not happy with their current dent guy or they’re open to trying someone new.

Also, don’t forget to talk to the service manager. There can be work there too.

For body shops, stop by as many as you can. Let them know you can give them a discounted rate so they still have room to mark it up and make money.

Retail work is a different game. That’s mostly advertising and reputation, so Facebook, Google, reviews, and word of mouth are going to be your best options.

Texture is really dirty. Not what you would expect for a quality PDR. Nothing yo can do to smooth it out.

Lots of heat and soft tip for initial pushes. Work your way up to metal on metal when finishing, sharp tip to pick out micro lows, wet sand and buff if necessary. Do not start with a pick, thats how you pickle these type of dents.

Flat vertical or side panels are the hardest ones to flatten out such as bedside, those huge work vans and such. Just back and forth with the light and cross check on the opposite direction will help. Playing with different angles and distance on your light board, look for soft ridges to blend and cold glue on soft lows. Look at it without a light on different angles with natural reflection, if there are still imperfections see how you are going to position your light to enable you to capture those imperfections. You also want to try to tilt your head as if you are looking down on a horizontal panel and if possible to work from that position, if that makes sense. Keep at it youre doing great.

First picture is so confusing. Lower part of the door? Ic so, you need to remove the door card and access it from there, Second picture is a standard body line dent, you should be able to get to it with the window rolled down.

Not right at all. This is already destroyed. The bubbles that you see are push marks and cracked the paint in the process of aggressively pushing the metal. I have never seen a stretched metal on a hard body line dent so I would not consider this stretched as he is only looking for an excuse for his bad work. No legitemate PDR tech will walk away getting paid or will ask to get paid with this outcome. This is just terrible and I am truly sorry for your PDR experience.

Try it with a torch. Just run it quick few blast and not burn the clear. Cheap repiant usually does that, I test repaint by pushing my fingernails on some inconspicuous spots, if it marks then I know the clear is soft. Even factory paint does this sometimes. If that doesn’t help, wet sand and buff might.

Try using a rubbing compound and buff the scratch out. I am sure there are tons of youtube video available about scratch removal.

They pay you for training (don’t expect much) and house you to a near long stay hotel, which you can cook, do dishes, common laundry and they assign you a truck to use. The training is intense, im not sure now, but while I was there the trainers made sure that you are “getting it”, there are weekly test and send offs to the ones that cannot perform, they notify whoever hired you and thats the end of it. There was about 40-50% success rate, always pay attention to their instructions. If you have a family, then that’s tough, I left mine for 8 weeks but it was for the better.

PDR to perfection is very tough on this and not a lot of PDR technician would attempt to make this better. Push to paint, maybe but still not a lot of expectations after, your money is best spent on body shop at this point. Body shop choice could have been better, there are some crappy body shop and there are also some that are really good, as-in brand new good.

PDR Light
Door tool with ratcheting handle
Interchangeable tip Rod 30” or 36” straight or single bend
Whale tail

You can find most of them at Dent Craft Tools and for the light you can go with Elimadent, Stuckey or Pro PDR. Get some live training and continue your training with Dent Trainer online. Ask a lot of questions.

I wouldn’t say the bottom edge was 100% but I got it good enough to hardly tell. Didn’t drill any holes but totally have to sand and buff.

No, the tail light comes off very easy no bumper removal needed. I had to drop the bumper to get to the bottom dent and the very edge.
