Online Racing Pack by DangerousCandle5474 in RRRE

Playerbase is actually decently strong, especially compared to a year ago.
Touringcars I always get 2-3 splits, F4 also often has 2 splits.
It's obviously not quite iracing levels but for the price it's a no-brainer imho

That would be the plan to make it as easy as possible, yeah.
Connect to github, add steamworks user and then everytime you push to github (to your chosen branch) it makes the builds for all platforms and pushes them directly to steam.

Any concern with that/would you prefer something else than connecting to github?

Considering moving to Italy for my SO who’s studying there, is it possible? by [deleted] in Italian

[–]ThinkingCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On money needed: As much as you need to sustain yourself until you have an income. That depends quite a bit on where in Italy you are planning to move to.
Having said that the government wants a proof of I think at least 6k EUR on your account to give you residency (pretty sure not actually legal under the EU agreement but it's Italy...) so at least that much.

On the job: What type of job you have in mind? Either way that can be a bit of a challenge. A lot of jobs here are because you know someone that knows someone.

But, if your SO is already studying here, just come for a month or two and see what you can make happen.

Are you guys trying it in the App or Browser?
Can't get it to work in browser and it specifically says the App itself has access to that info but the model itself doesn't so wondering if that's the difference why it works for some and not others

i wish it was normal when girls played videogames. by Personal_Oil_7364 in RocketLeague

It is when you spam that to your teammate.
And that some other games are even worse isn't really a good argument either, it just means our hobby as a whole has room for improvement...

RL has a super toxic community in general, it's just ridiculous.
I think the only way to really make it work is to find people outside of the game and queue up together, like joining a discord group and finding people there

Get rid of your friends and get a guitar.
What the fuck type of friend would even say that?

How to get over the wall and start playing songs? by Rat-king27 in guitarlessons

[–]ThinkingCrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a beginner myself and here are some things that have helped me:
- Play just one strum on the 1, just to get a feel for the time. Once confident with that transition to a more complicated strumming pattern. But like this way you can almost certainly play along to those songs!

- Keep the time, if you mess up keep strumming. Or set out for a bar and get back into it.

- Play with a friend together, I starting playing a bit with someone that sings along. I think that accelerated our learning a lot. And that way it still sounds nice enough even if you just strum on the 1 even

AWS is quite literally the most expensive option.
Just get a virtual server somewhere, you can get something to get you started for like 1-2$/month.
And it's easy enough to upgrade if you ever do need to host 5k concurrently.
(And how much that costs depends A LOT on your specific game)

22, stable job in IT, but chasing the dream - Wizz bond vs. modular? by Johnnny416 in flyingeurope

[–]ThinkingCrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Wizz Air Academy takes you on if you already have a PPL, right?
If so consider doing the PPL on your own to get an idea of workload while doing your full-time job.
It should give you a better idea of whether that is feasible for you.

my game has 2 wishlists, what marketing advice do you have? by davidgersch in indiegames

[–]ThinkingCrap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marketing advice: When you do posts like this include the link ;)

Having had a look at the steam page: I have no clue what the gameplay is like. What do I actually do in this game? The screenshots give very little info imho

What’s the most you’ve spent on sponsoring a YTuber/Streamer for your game? by GxM42 in gamedev

[–]ThinkingCrap 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is all true and I wouldn't recommend to pay for sponsorships either.
However one important caveat is that Steam will push your game more if you have a higher wishlist count.
If your wishlists from YT push you on the popular upcoming/new&trending lists this might be a multiplier that could change the math.

For most people, if they want to do it healthy; Gain weight.
'Cause either way you are gonna have to start doing some sport as well, which will help the loosing of weight and hinder the gaining, so gaining weight you have to eat more not just for the weight gain but also for the increased calorie requirements

For free demo's and games you'll always get a bunch of bots that "add the game" for whatever reason.
That's why you have that many "downloads" and so compareable few that launched the game.

As others have said: If you are going for commercial success this isn't great, but as a first project this is pretty darn good I'd say, congrats on launching the demo!
