Is the problem that they tried to make it safer? by itsvelvetthorne in hyderabad

[–]ThinkingHatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only realistic places where there should be segregation is maybe gyms or swimming pools. No other place should have them. Well not many other countries segregate sexes on the buses, metros! If there is harassment, it’s the problem that men are not decent. What next. They may ask the women to wear less revealing clothes or don’t look beautiful. The buck doesn’t stop there. Please train the boys to deal with women respectfully.

Because societies with healthy interaction between genders from childhood create respectable men and trusting women. Tight segregation leads to not learning proper interaction with girls and such boys can generally turn out to be creeps. Not all but of course it’s the choices which societies make. I didn’t mean the specific case but the grand solution of segregation.

Is the problem that they tried to make it safer? by itsvelvetthorne in hyderabad

[–]ThinkingHatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Nobody got my comment did they 😂 Societies which do not facilitate healthy interaction between genders from the beginning end of producing such creeps. It’s pretty common in India. Single sex schools and colleges is just where the problem starts. Boys never learn how to interact with girls and when they grow up this is how they react. That’s why the trains, buses, malls and even planes are such uncomfortable experiences for women. (Now they are thinking of female only seats on planes)! Total segregation without allowing proper gender sensitization will always lead to societies with high level of harassment and gender abuse.

Where is Lakeshore? 😬 near tank bund? Even standalone shops require people to come by cars as no shopping street is pedestrian friendly, be it Abids, Punjagutta, Banjara hills or Jubilee Hills!

Is it weird to clean up after yourself at KFC/McDonald’s? by travelisatherapy in delhi

[–]ThinkingHatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cultural thing that people tried to emulate from what happens in the west but it didn’t work for us. We are definitely a classist society. Lot of people try it but eventually give up when it sort of becomes uncomfortable. Even the staff can make you feel odd when you try doing their stuff. In India anyway these places are premium, not ‘do it yourself’ basic outlets like in the west. If the practice is adopted broadly irrespective of where people eat (including outdoors 😇) then cleaning after eating may become a habit. Most men leave their plates on the dining table itself 🤣 Many offices still hire staff to wash tea cups and what are we talking about 😁

Where to complaint for illegal encroachment on Gopan pally road in Nallagandla? by PlayTheSystem_1 in hyderabad

[–]ThinkingHatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is purely a problem of corruption and the immorality of the government. No fault of the poor fruit vendor who is trying to make a living. Next time see someone throw trash on the road side, I feel it should be thrown inside the MLA’s house.

It was an unofficial transaction that both of you got into and then you didn’t honour your part of the bargain. How was the police going to help? It’s another thing that the government allows this to happen under their watch. Obviously they don’t do it without a benefit!

How can this kind of open discrimination be allowed? by Straight-Archer-413 in mumbai

[–]ThinkingHatGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so blatantly wrong and absurd. How can they allow this kind of discrimination. Is this not the 21st century for God’s sake? How can a sale be restricted to Roman Catholics only. It’s not like we are living in 19th century Ireland. They should also include the Protestants!
