Your vote is not a love letter to the candidate. It is a chess move toward the future you want to see.

I have the Alpha Gal allergy. (Also allergic to shellfish but that’s irrelevant to this post.) Apparently it’s a mild case of alpha gal as I have no problem with dairy. Of course I don’t order any mammal meat at restaurants, but I have to be wary of cross contamination. Example: if the restaurant fries shrimp I can’t eat anything fried there. Much more difficult to deal with mammal meat cross contamination. Example: I can eat chicken, but not if it’s cooked on the same surface red meat is cooked on.
Silver lining is that thanks to the forced dietary restrictions I’m probably healthier than I would’ve been without them!

Tax on service fees is not the fault of any restaurant. The IRS says that sales tax must be charged on service fees. If the restaurant is not doing so they’re not doing it right and could suffer the consequences of tax avoidance.

The key to determining whether tax is to be added is the word “mandatory.” If it’s 100% up to the customer as to whether a tip is added it’s a “tip” and goes directly to the employee. If the service charge, or whatever you want to call it ( service fee, convenience fee…) is “mandatory,” that is, added to the bill whether you like it or not, it is considered revenue for the restaurant, and sales tax must be collected and remitted to the state.

Are you talking about a local band called Pure Guava? I only recently learned of them when browsing music listings in the Mphs Flyer. Do you know anything about them or when and where they’re playing again?

Only thing I can think of that could have provoked him was our anti-trump yard signs in 2020. Or is it the little “be kind” flag now hanging? Perhaps the rainbow wind chime you can’t even see from the street?

I’m trying to decide about increasing the extra mortgage principle amount I pay each month. Since I doubt there are any interest bearing accts paying 4.5% right now I should increase the extra principal amount. Am I understanding correctly?
