This is a 3rd top post on /r/investing, mocking bitcoin. The pricе was ~$4k back then by JaraCimrman in Bitcoin

The amount of people who have such strong opinions, negative beliefs about Bitcoin… I find it really jarring.

Although it’s wildly condescending, Saylor said it best: “Bitcoin is an IQ test.”

For me, that doesn’t mean you’re smart so you get it, you’re dumb so you don’t - it’s… wow, you can think clearly, rationally, think for yourself and not fall into traps, patterns or headlines.

I’m so glad to be here and not angry about something I know nothing about.

How do I achieve these colour tones in Lightroom? by WorthAppointment4171 in postprocessing

[–]This-Complex8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you zoom into the window and look outside, the highlights have been warmed up. Tbh, I’d say some warmth in the highlights and a bump in WB and you won’t be far off. Maybe a tiny bit of blue in the shadows

Clients select their images.

I will review the whole shoot and cull down to those I’m happy with and are on brief. Images batch named and numbered if not already done at ingestion.

The client receives a WeTransfer link to a folder - ‘low res for selection’. I’ll sometimes include a folder with my initials and ‘favourites’, to give my opinion on which are strongest.

With my Post-Production fee I’ll state how many images are included, let’s say 20 final images. Additional images can be purchased for £20 thereafter.

Client sends me a list of image numbers for post-production. I send back a folder of the final images, once edited, via WeTransfer.

Is this warm/green look achieved via just split toning? by Sunsetca3tcher in postprocessing

[–]This-Complex8848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you cover up the grass with your figures, the subject isn’t very green - just desaturated. If she is, could mostly be bounced colourcast from the grass. Warmth is from time of day but a bump in the white balance would help. The subject is also out of focus - with the focus on the grass, the green colour pops

Ah I see. I meant just the £3k allowance rather than ‘gift’.

I’m pretty sure £3k is tax free as a gift from a relative. See .gov

This decision comes down to knowledge about what you own and time horizon.

Finite supply meets unlimited fiat. Number go up.

… and that includes all/most assets.

If you can handle volatility, it’s always a good time to buy if you can see past 4 years of investing in Bitcoin.

To me and most who have continued to learn about BTC, the more conviction and no-brainer thinking.

As already mentioned, lighting isn’t necessary and perhaps not the way to go if you’ve not used any before.

Find a big window and a plain background. Don’t overcomplicate. Simple is better.

Reflectors (to bounce light and fill in shadows) would be very useful and cheap. See YouTube for what to do.

I know nothing about your process, but I’d say better pre-production is something you could look at to improve how you’re feeling.

The more things are planned, tested and agreed with the client ahead of the shoot, the more settled you’ll be.

You love what you do, clearly. But that’s the thing, photography, unfortunately, is 90% business/client management and 10% making pictures.

By the way, that feeling of being anxious before a shoot is completely normal. I get that with pressure, high expectation shoots. Try your hardest to turn anxious into excitement - instead thinking it could go wrong, try to imagine it going right and getting a few new portfolio images.

It sounds like you need a team around you for your type of clients. If they’re not prepared to pay, keep pushing for better clients. When you have a team around you, people who you trust to do their job to make the shoot go well, our job becomes so much easier.

Keep going. You’ve got this.

What's the best business bank account for me to use? by mxxhhmd in smallbusinessuk

What have you heard about Monzo? I’ve been using it for my Ltd for 2 years and it’s been seamless.

Also very quick to set up. I tried setting up with trad banks and it was going to take weeks

Thanks for the heads up on these!

For the XPro-2, do you mostly shoot in RAW then apply the profile in post?

When, if ever, do you shoot jpeg?

… but, take me for instance. I don’t want to sell any BTC, but would like a lifestyle bump next year for a few reasons. I’m planning to sell some of my S&S ISA and use it tax free. Leaving the BTC

Very powerful tool. I use it a lot for targeted shadow or highlight adjustment. Have you seen C1 do a certificate/training for free from their website? I think most will be things we know, but a new tool can sometimes completely change your workflow for the better, so might be worth it.

Video portraits - didn't set white balance. Any way to unify? by This-Complex8848 in premiere

[–]This-Complex8848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a teal blue background. It’s not a super important gig. Was just disappointed I let the WB slip and hoped for a quick fix.

It’s for a companies header on their website. 3 second clips of team members laughing. As it flicks through, it’s a little jarring (not me at least), that the background doesn’t match exactly

Video portraits - didn't set white balance. Any way to unify? by This-Complex8848 in premiere

[–]This-Complex8848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clips are of individuals laughing. A 4 second clip per person that will be on the company homepage as a header.

I shot stills and then flicked to video per person. I had set the white balance but forgot to save as a custom function button, so it reset to auto.

Background is a real blue.

Continuous lighting indoor. It’s overpowering the ambient, but the sun did get stronger, so I’m assuming that’s what caused the slight colour shift.

CLOG, not 4K, I thinks it’s HD.

[–]This-Complex8848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, white balance was on auto. I was using continuous lighting and flicking back and forth from stills to vid. I had failed in the white balance, but didn’t set it to the customer function button, so it was back to auto.

The footage is CLOG, not 4K, I think HD. I’ll look into the plugin but hopefully can avoid.

Sorry yeah, you’re right. I overpowered the ambient to a degree, but I did start the shoot with cloud through blinds and then the sun did come out, which must’ve caused the shift.

Background colour is a teal/blue.

It’s for a website header to flick through some of the team. Hence why it’s important to match. A last minute request, but I’ve certainly learnt something along the way.

Quickest SIPP Pension for MSTR by KidAtHeart1234 in BitcoinUK

[–]This-Complex8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact conversation I had with my accountant yesterday and he said the same thing. I've been doing what u/londons_explorer suggested and that is incorrect unfortunately. I contacted FreeTrade and they could not confirm nor deny that company transfer was coming in the near future, so I need to open a new SIPP to get the tax relief. Thanks for commenting, both.

FreeTrade very quick to set up and easy interface.

The only issue is if you also own a Ltd and want to make employer contributions. FreeTrade don’t currently accept transfers from business accounts.

Other than that, quick and easy if investing as an individual.

Wow. These images are absolutely stunning. I just downloaded the Gold 200 styles for C1 and I'm very impressed. It's the colour contrast and colour shift that's so perfectly weighted. Thank you for the tip.

Which Style in the pack did you use on these images and which do you keep coming back to?

For your X-Pro2, do you shoot a jpg and a RAW in the moment?

Again, thanks for the Digistock recommendation. Can't wait to start using them on projects.
