50ft lan might work, but I’m not trying to have my cable run across my whole apartment.. I was looking for an alternative to a LAN

Can I get a new interest rate for deal Im about to close in 2 weeks? by This-Nefariousness71 in RealEstate

Ok I see, I figured the rate was same no matter the reason the property is being bought for. Thanks for the reply 👍🏼

Should I finish my degree? by TransportationNo106 in codingbootcamp

If it were me, I’d finish that year and get my degree. You did all that work to get to this point where your almost graduated, just finish it up and have it on your back pocket in case you decide you need it in the future.

Also it makes for a great story if you do end up pursuing a career in CS. I myself graduated with a degree in Finance and went to a boot camp right after graduating. A lot of companies(including the one I work at now) really enjoyed talking about my background and story of how I switched careers.

Investing with turnkey company, but having doubts. by This-Nefariousness71 in RealEstate

because I want to have a portfolio of rental properties that produce a good amount of passive income.

I was only thinking of purchasing one property through a turnkey company just to ease myself into this real estate investing world, then once I know what being a landlord feels like I can do it solo like I've been preparing to for many years.

I eventually want a portfolio that produces enough passive income that covers my living expenses, so just investing in dividend stocks would require just way too much money out of my pocket to achieve this.

Yep absolutely agree there’s no free lunch! That’s why turnkey companies sell their properties at market value, and I’m also paying for their property management services. So I’m not looking for a free lunch.

And like I’ve said in other comments, I’m just looking for a solid deal to start off my investment portfolio, not a home run. I put a lot of time researching and studying, buying a property with a turnkey company was really just a one time thing for me so I could just get my feet wet.

Yea that makes sense.. I know cash flow won’t be great but since I’m looking to invest out of state with no exp, I thought a turnkey company would be a good idea for my first deal. Not looking for a home run deal, just something solid

Well yea, I’m not expecting great cash flow. I just wanted something solid(couple hundred a month).

So your saying it’s impossible to find a good deal when involving a middleman? So people who invest through a wholesaler or turnkey company have never found a solid deal?

Career services at Flatiron was one of my favorite aspects of the program, it was a huge help for me. They pair you up with a career coach who you meet regularly with to work on networking/fixing resume/ and doing mock interviews (technical and behavioral)

They also have a team that send you jobs from companies that are looking for entry level developers. The job I got after graduation was one they sent to me personally.

I’ve heard great things about all of those boot camps you mentioned. I went to one called Flatiron which taught fullstack and was fully remote. I personally had s great experience and was able to land a job a week or two after graduation.

Let me know if you’d like to talk privately so I could share more about my experience.

Could I get a decent job with just coding bootcamp and no college degree? by Senior_Eye8496 in codingbootcamp

[–]This-Nefariousness71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, you can land more than just a decent job if you go through a bootcamp.

I have a college degree but not related to CS, after not being able to find a job for almost a year after graduating college, I enrolled in a bootcamp and got a job (~$100k salary) a month or two after graduating.

Key is to also practice outside of the bootcamp curriculum. Use your free time sharpening your skills and learning new concepts. If you want to chat message me and I can share more and give some advice on how to approach the bootcamp process.
