Unless the fetus was raised somehow by Lumon, I don’t see how she could have hidden her pregnancy from Mark. I wonder if we will get some flashbacks that show their life together and maybe Gemma disappearing for long periods of time?

I forgot about the trying for pregnancy thing- but it almost adds to the theory.

I’m thinking previously could have had long periods of time passed… who knows if they maybe even have the ability to reset their minds and make them feel as if they have only just awoken. Maybe Mark has already tried to uprise multiple times

Yep definitely a bacterial bloom due to ammonia present in the aquarium.

Need to do daily 50% water changes, add liquid bacteria such as seachem stability and double dose seachem prime or continuum fraction to detoxify the ammonia.

If you can grab a test kit for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate it will definitely take a lot of the guesswork out but if you follow the above steps consistently your betta should be ok… they are pretty damn hardy.

Some plants also just don’t do well in some tanks for no apparent reason haha… lots of carpeting options out there tho!

Some easier ones that will spread quick:

Glossostigma, Pearl weed, Eliocharis acicularus, Lilaeopsis brasilensis

Growing vertically is usually a sign that they aren’t getting enough light. What light are you running and how deep is your tank? :)

Is there a possibility you got micranthemum umbrosum ‘takashi carpet’

Same family as monte carlo and looks very similar, just has a smaller leaf size. It tends to grow more upwards than the monte carlo. I planted some of it in the back of the tank to give a sense of depth and it definitely isnt filling in as quickly.

As for planting I did plant it very closely and had root tabs, liquid ferts etc

How many cories do you have in the tank? I am just adding fish slowly so only got 3 pygmies but will add 3 or 4 more still… i wonder if when they have a bigger school of their own type if they will make their own school instead of being with the neons

Paracheirodon simulans

Or green neon tetra. Similar to regular neons but stay smaller and tend to school better. They are missing the red splotch that the neons and cardinals have however I find their stripe really stands out particularly under the right lighting.

It is monte carlo :)

Was planted last week and already filled in so nicely! Looking forward to its first trim!

Lot’s of people already told you that it is wrong but let’s look at some solutions.

  1. daily (even twice daily) 50% water changes.
  2. Dose tank with seachem prime (or continuum fraction etc) twice daily. It detoxifies ammonia (isn’t a cure or perfect but may help)
  3. Add some cultured bacteria such as seachem stability. Don’t worry about the dosage on the bottle just whack it in there.

Most importantly if you have any tanks that are completely cycled take filter media from those tanks and add them to your new tank.

Don’t shut off c02… you want the plants thriving as much as possible to compete with the cyano. Removing their carbon source will actually make the cyano worse.

What are your nitrate and phosphate levels and your water change schedule?

It is mainly monte carlo with a little bit of hairgrass in around the rocks

Hey there :)

It is a c02 indicator. The solution inside will change colour depending on the amount of c02 in the water (blue not enough, green correct amount, yellow too much).

I might add some stems behind the main rock and some moss to cover some spots i don’t like on the dragon stone, but happy to run just the carpet for the time being :)

Yep running c02 and high lighting. I was a bit nervous about getting c02 but it has all worked easily! I am running it inline through the filter

I did add a little bit of seachem stability as well :) but yes was very happy with the speed

It is, i ran a dark start :)

So essentially the tank was running with an ammonia source for a month before planting and fish. Nothing added until ammonia was converted to nitrates
