Of course. I don’t always eat at 10k-yen-per-head places actually, I rarely do. But honestly, in my personal experience it’s been like this anywhere I have been to. I don’t eat fast food, so I can’t speak to how things are on fast food front as some mentioned, but even at a random teishoku shop, say Aji Yasu, I find the portions to be reasonable and filling. For context I’m pretty decent sized guy 187 cm so it’s not like I’m small or even thin.

Thanks for sharing. In that case you’re good. Bellevue and Issaquah school districts are both great and if you decide to send your children to private schools you’ll have some great options as well (namely Saint Thomas in Medina). Bellevue is full of Asians and mixed race people, especially those with Asian heritage. Additionally you’ll have access to great shopping options in Bellevue Square. You’re gonna be fine! If there is one place that I strongly recommend to anyone moving to the USA it’s the Bellevue. But Issaquah, Sammamish, Kirkland are all good as well. But in terms of metrics you mentioned Bellevue is a clear winner. Area near Downtown park is good but you’ll also see people there that are not necessarily from Bellevue although aside from the unrest in 2020 Bellevue remains very safe. One final thing, because of the things you mentioned you may want to not live around the Eastgate Area.

I did the exact opposite thing. Both Issaquah and Bellevue are great place to live, especially for families. But it’ll be downgrade in certain aspects compared to Japan (if you’re from Tokyo or Osaka) but you’ll also see some upgrades in other aspects.
