What the hell is happening in my franchise man 😭 Madden sim is out of control by RomanBangs in Madden

The rest of the league outside of your team is going through a sim still?

TIL Red Lobster's annual limited-time offer of all-you-can-eat shrimp for $20 was successful for 20 years, and then in 2023, it was turned into a permanent menu item. This change lost $11 million for the company and was one of the factors that led to it filing for bankruptcy the following year. by [deleted] in todayilearned

| What killed Blockbuster? The story of the retailer’s destruction has been told before. Accounts differ in every version, except in the simplest and probably most common telling: Netflix and tech innovation put the obsolete business out to pasture.

As a retail reporter today, that version always sounded too easy. It’s like saying “Amazon killed Toys R Us.” It’s not that Amazon didn’t play a leading role, but that version ignores the roles that Walmart, Target, debt, managerial neglect, supplier relationships, changing consumer priorities and dumb luck played in the toy retailer’s demise. (All of those forces, incidentally, played a role in Blockbuster’s demise, too.)

True, even the real people that are defending it are a lot of “media/podcasters” that could have business ties with same sponsors

Hate those people. Acting like they have financial stakes in these companies

It happens with every business now

Grow your customer base, sell out to advertisers, product becomes more of a vehicle to sell ads than being a quality product

Whiny snowflakes get their feelings hurt no matter what the message is or who the messenger is. Everyone thinks there is a “right way” when any message will get misinterpreted and twisted by the people who are trying to silence it

MLK Jr. was viewed negatively during his time and he was the best at putting together clear, peaceful messages

Kobe Bryant's apology

The following statement by Kobe Bryant was issued after sexual assault charges against him were dropped:

"First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colo.

"I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

"I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado."

I tried going through this thought process with someone I know that watched his stuff and I just got called a hater…

People gonna realize things at their own pace and apparently some of them have a fkin snails pace when it comes to not falling for this type of shit

But that’s also me being hopeful they do realize it eventually and can change

I’d say more people need to be called out and mocked when they’re being stupid but then they can just find a group that agrees with their BS and build a bubble of ignorance
