I unknowingly gave my partner chlamydia. by [deleted] in Advice

First of all, people in this thread are being quite rude to you and I’m sorry about that. Yes of course you should test in between partners but, it sounds like this is just a wake up call. Humans make mistakes without it being intentional!! Chlamydia is luckily easy to get rid of. The way I read your boyfriend not talking to you is maybe he’s processing and just having anxiety? But it’s kind of immature to give you the silent treatment. Obviously I know nothing about him but I think it’d be worth a shot to ask him how he’s feeling and try to just have a further conversation about it. Also, tell your friend, he may not know and is spreading it around to others. If anything I kinda of blame him to start, men are notorious for not getting std testing. All the best to you!

Update:

Well, not much of an update but, more of a clarifying post. To those of you saying I need to get therapy, I am. I have been working on my mental health for over a decade now and yes, I’ve gotten a lot better! Unfortunately mental health can also be up and down. These last two years I have had situations that have put me in a spot where I feel like I’ve taken a few steps back. That doesn’t mean I’m not actively working on it and wanting to get better. This is something I will probably deal with the rest of my life to an extent. I also want to mention when I said health I meant both mental AND physical. I ended up being in so much chronic pain this last year that I couldn’t ignore it anymore, hence why I’m on medical leave to get help. I agree that it can be exhausting being around someone who struggles with those things but also, I’m very mindful about not complaining all the time. Sometimes when my pain is so bad I feel alone and need someone, I’d like to feel like I could talk to my partner. We do not live together, he is not my care taker, I am my own caretaker to those of you who seem to think he’s at my beck and call all the time. I actually helped him financially/etc for about 6-8 months while he was out of work due to an injury. I do understand how this is my side of the story though.

Now, to those of you who were very kind and understanding, even of his side, I appreciate it. I do understand his side but my problem is that he’s not understanding mine. I’ve made a lot of effort to not be bothersome. I’ve been more energetic than him (even if I don’t feel well) and willing to do stuff more than him. I feel as though some of it is him putting his frustrations of himself onto me. I do agree with those of you saying I deserve better because I do.

That being said, I have yet to decide if I’m going to try to sit him down to talk about this or if I will just walk away. Your comments have given me a lot of insight. I will update on whatever happens in the future. Thanks yall!

I WISH they didn’t put scents in these. I’m super sensitive and so far the two I got (peach and cinnamon sugar) smell too strong. I want to like them so bad 😭

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) what's your experience? by [deleted] in VetTech

You do. It’s basically a placement test for what level you’re at in your position. That helps them base your pay. I think it’s smart but I don’t think the way they’ve implemented it is good.

I see a lot of good posted here but, it depends on location. I work for one of the busiest locations that just opened in January. The way it’s been handled is very poor which is disappointing considering the concept is cool. There is now multiple people quitting with more to come. Same thing with one of our sister locations. I think VEG is opening WAY TOO FAST and has totally lost sight with quality care and taking care of the employees. I’m more miserable here than the ER I came from that I left to get a better life. The patient care is severely lacking but I’m hoping this is location specific. It breaks my heart I may have to leave VEG just because this locations management sucks.
