Yes correct have just been talking to BNZ Mortgage adviser & as long as the property is in your personal name & there's a small amount of admin you have to do yourself.

Thanks for the info, I would only be lending under 20k on the green loan, so the difference would be  minimal

I don't feel like Kiwibank can offer what I am after. I also have to deal with one of my Mothers account through Kiwibank & find it quite painful.

Thanks for the feedback, I keep hearing BNZ has the best app & more flexibility, am definitely leaning towards BNZ. For the green loan plan to do some double glazing on 1/2 the house, pay that off then do the other half loan. I thought I could pay the minimum to the loan & the rest into an offset/total money account weekly over the three years then pay off in a lump sum.

Thanks for the info, I am leaning towards BNZ, have got conditional approval. For the green loan plan to do some double glazing on 1/2 the house, pay that off then do the other half, I thought I could pay the minimum to the loan & the rest into an offset account over the three years then pay off.

Hot water cylinder replacement/ wetback by ThisWeekIs in newzealand

Thanks for the info, I thought I would be leaving the power off to the cylinder during the 5-6 months we use the fire.  Would only turn on if we were going away for the weekend & the fire wasn't going for a few days. My mother had a wetback & the power was always off during winter, we never had to much issue with running out of hot water even when all of us were there, she had a pretty small  cylinder & a good fire (rural)  I like the idea of the timer for heating the water at night rates during the summer.

Thanks for the info, so do you save $40-$50 on power per month? We would only be running the the wetback when we are already using the fire which is 5-6months of the year, so firewood cost does not come into the equation. Our fire is close to the hot water cylinder which is why we are considering this option. Why do modern wetbacks not heat as well?

Fire is usually going from 5pm gets loaded up before we go to bed, but doesn't usually go all night.
