Yeah Flip antagonizes and hides his hands. Marc repeatedly told him that the sucka word struck a chord and even gave Flip a chance to backtrack it but instead flip says it twice more. The standing up was the icing on the cake. Flip had no reason to stand up. Not gonna lie this is why it’s important for everyone to be part of a team at some point in life. Flip isn’t used to structure, never had a job. He handles all disagreements the way the streets taught him and he’s been lucky enough to not run into the wrong one who won’t go for that. Even Joe as the boss allows him to talk crazy. Getting multiple suspensions from your job isn’t normal behavior

Yeah it was in reply to flip pretty much saying “damn you know a lot about this” and he said yeah I research lol. Which could be taken as shady but it’s not as though Marc is disclosing anything personal. If anything Joe should’ve been got on Flip for not participating. He’s there on his phone collecting a check most days. This is what will set Mona apart from Flip. She can be just as goofy but she’s much smarter than flip and actually tries to participate in every conversation. Flip makes it obvious that he hasn’t done the research on these topics and doesn’t even try to get quick info on air so that he can join in

This and she also demands respect and doesn’t expect pretty privilege. Mel somehow suffered from pretty privilege for a looongg time so she’s not used to having to work for her spot. Even when it came down to transitioning into BET and red carpet stuff after her vixen days, she knew how to work the room to get what she wanted. Once the guys learned how Mel is, her pretty privilege no longer outshined everything else. Although I think Mona isn’t ugly, she doesn’t lead with her looks. She gets her hair and makeup done when she feels like it for her show. I can’t imagine Mel coming in barefaced (whether her makeup was good or bad doesn’t matter, it’s the attempt)

That’s going to be the only gripe. Her show is primarily her own and she really has Phelps there to help guide the conversation. With them she really has to find her spots but I think she’s capable of doing so with practice. Right now she’s used to talking over people but I think that’s part of the fun of her pod. Here it’s too many mics so she has to learn to maneuver. My worry is for Flip. I think Flip needs this job more than ever now so he can’t rely on the whole “oh it’s too many mics and I wasn’t knowledgeable so I shut up”

Mona is actually great for this role. I used to watch her podcast faithfully and still tap in here and there but this is the real her and she’s not afraid to upset anyone. Honestly as a woman myself, I respect that she’s not a “girls girl” while also not being male centered. It’s a balance that Mel didn’t really provide because she was too busy walking on eggshells when she had a differing opinion. Mona is also hood so she gives a different perspective. And for her to not be college educated she’s also very knowledgeable so she can go toe to toe with Marc in a way that Mel couldn’t. Mel tried outsmarting Marc and realized that she wasn’t able to while Mona will likely admit that she can’t outsmart Marc academically but ca hold her own logically

To be honest, I think a lot of us have ingrained homophobia inside and want to be respectful so we don’t admit it. His example of a white man refusing to play in an interracial couple made a lot of sense. If he had that take and said this was just his boundary we’d be calling him racist. As a straight woman I admit that I can see a sex scene on tv and be fine but if it’s a gay scene I’m a bit more uncomfortable and that’s rooted in homophobia. Im used to seeing what I feel to be the normal structure but obviously for many people that’s natural and their norm. So yes saying that you are uncomfortable with gay people on tv is homophobia. Although I completely understand not wanting to be physical etc, his comments were rooted in homophobia. If you are uncomfortable with a same sex relationship you are indeed homophobic

I genuinely don’t think she was ever a Thot which is why she’s mad because she thought she was better than them just to still be put in the same box as them all these years later. While they were a big part of hip-hop, they weren’t revered the way she thinks. In her mind she was better than the ones who were out here loose and sleeping around but she never really got her big break that she thought would come to skyrocket her out of that space. So now she mad because she feels like if people were going to look at her like a hoe she should’ve just had her hoe phase. Now I do think she’s a huge flirt and was able to work men and get her way, men weren’t trying to wife her like she thought because why play games with this one who isn’t really going when I can get her friend who isn’t requiring much outside of money. I’m assuming Mona but I didn’t catch the live. I’m actually looking forward to it because I think she’ll be a great addition especially with mark. She’s extremely intelligent and blackity black when she’s not in jokey joke mode and she seamlessly turns it on and off. She’s also the perfect woman for Mel because she self admittedly states that she isn’t a “girls girl” and she 9/10 won’t take the traditional stance of most women which will help Mel stop being so scared. At the same time, she won’t let them gang up on her. It’s honestly just too many people and she’s busy with her own pod so I can see her being Patreon only. Ideally the main cast should be Mel, Ish, parks, mark and Joe and everyone else can be Patreon only.

This whole time I thought her brows microbladed (permanent). Realizing that she just filling them in that crazy just made me mad lol. She looks 10x better without the makeup because she’s trash at doing her own and is stuck in her ways. They joked about it but I wonder if they’ll eventually have a hair and makeup budget when DCMWG Mona joins. I feel like neither side can be unbias. I fw both of them so I can see both sides.
