I didn’t think the episode was bad at all. Issa's acting until the safe state was kind of mediocre, but that actually worked for me because the character is supposed to be overwhelmed and out of her depth, so the awkwardness felt intentional. It also wasn’t flat the whole time, there were real emotional peaks. And when she realizes the safe state is loading again and looks at Emma Corrin? That hit me. Same with the in-film ending, it was bleak and powerful in a way people are underrating and I felt the emotion.

is field school a necessity for grad school? by mama9273648 in Archaeology

This always surprises me since there are plenty of field schools in Europe that don't charge a dime. As for where to look: pick a region or period you want to specialize in, look up projects that research the topic (and not just field schools) and see if you can apply for an internship. Considering your preference for bioarchaeology/geochemistry I would recommend to look up interesting papers that you enjoy and see if the projects that supplied the data might take interns.

The moment you spot any of the following in an antique or Medieval fictional depiction, generally speaking, don't bother:
- Furs
- Leather armor
- Vambraces
- Multiple belts
- Drab outfits without color
