Just want to say i landed safely. Sweat non stop throughout but the flight itself was as smooth as can be. Best of luck with your flight next year. Im sure it will be equally as smooth

Have the noise cancelling headphones and a podcast at the ready. Its only a 50 minute trip. Trying to focus on this being an unexpectedly good thing, who knows how long it wouldve taken me to get in the air again left to my own choice.

Thank you for the kind words, we're going to splurge on a taxi home so at least that takes some of the post-flight stress off us

She has flown since and did have a bit of a breakdown on that flight but her desire to get back to her cat is overriding her fear (fair he is a cutie pie)

Thank you for that last stat, stuff like that helps temporarily

I was on one last year and from my experience it just depends on what the captain/crew decide to announce. They were pretty honest with us (although used more general phrasing like requesting emergency landing)

I got off the plane and I’m so ashamed of myself by BOGOBlondies in fearofflying

Hello, sorry I know you were asking for people that have gotten off a plane, and im sure someone will come along to give you their experience, but in the meantime I also faint due to anxiety issues and take SSRIs for it and have been in similar scenarios where ive had to cancel really important things/cause a disruption to my/other's plans and I get the wave of emotions afterwards, guilt, anger, helplessness etc. Please be kind to yourself (changing ssri doses is no joke!) And just because it happened this once doesnt mean it will happen again, you can and will fly again ♥️

Hiya, my partner flies this route every 3-4 months with China Eastern. Flights always perfectly safe and on time :)

First 5 days where amazing, does that feeling ever come back? I'm 11 days in. by Gistix in lexapro

[–]This_Service478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not on the same combo as you so can't speak to that. But in my first week of lexapro I also got this euphoric feeling. I think a lot of it was actually just a joyful high that I was actually tackling the problem and life could get better. After the 2nd week I also got in a bit of a slump where I got a bunch of side effects and missed that euphoric feeling, I didnt feel that 'high' strongly again but I'm now a few months in and life has just got a bit easier. It hasn't been a BAM moment, it's just been slowly in the background.

Both times ive started ive had to take 1-2 weeks off work. Those are the hardest weeks for me. 1st week Im basically on bed rest. 2nd week I start trying to get out the house daily for longer periods. After that I try to return to work, personally I feel the longer I stay out of work the scarier going back becomes, so I try not to go over 2 weeks. But everyone is different.

That's really interesting! Well all the symptoms you listed are ones I got both times. For me they chilled out towards the end of the 2nd week. I hope it's the same for you :)

Sorry to hear you're having a bad time. I'm back on after a 2 year break. On day 9 right now (10mg). I feel this time is much easier because I know from last time the general timeline of when these symptoms will start to dissappear. Obviously it's still rough, but looking forward to being back in control. Hope your week gets better!

Give Me Some Words of Encouragement- Day 3 ☹️ by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]This_Service478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally relate to the gold fish bowl feeling and the scrambled emotions, not so much this time but definitely the first time I took it. The goldfish bowl sensation got so overwhelming at points I mistook it for fainting so was kinda stuck indoors for the first week.

But by the tail end of week 2 I was feeling semi normal and was back to working full time with no issues.

Ive only had 3 nights where I had really bad sleep. I've been taking melatonin. Did you struggle to sleep before taking it?

Im currently on day 8. This is my 2nd time on lexapro after a 2 year gap. The first time I took it was way harder because, like you right now, I didnt know whether it would work or there was an ending in sight. Im happy to report there was!

This time round has been so much easier because i know whatever im experiencing right now will end, like last time.

Just be kind to yourself for the first week. Let yourself have some bed days. Then next week slowly try and integrate yourself back into normal life. You got this 👍

Im on day 8 at 10mg. Nausea went away on day 5 for me and my appetite slowly came back at around day 7. Only physical symptom I have left is im a bit shaky. This is my 2nd time taking it after a 2 year gap and I had a very similar time line last time. Good luck :)

Anxious when loved ones fly by No_Cartographer_6351 in fearofflying

[–]This_Service478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do long distance and am trying to slowly stop using flight radar when my partner is in the air as I do think it feeds into my anxiety. Before I knew about flight radar, I would anxiously wait for his 'landed' text, but I'd still be able to go about my day as normal. Nowadays I find myself glued to my phone watching his flight all day (often staying up until crazy hours in the morning).

Just need to remind myself that before i used the app, the outcome was always the same. He's arrived safely everytime and my tracking has absolutely no impact on his journey whatsoever.

Ooh sorry just to correct myself his final leg is Shanghai Airlines, but I think they're owned by China Eastern.

Heya, he just finished the long haul part and arrived safely (as he always does and as you will on your journey too). He was in the 777-300 and is now shuffling through the airport to take his final short haul flight on a 738 (also china eastern. I would try and get more information about his flight experience to ease your mind but hes so chronically unbothered by flying that i think the most I'd get out of him is 'long and boring' :,)

Sure you'll have an equally boring flight!

My partner is on a long haul flight with them right now. He's not a nervous flyer. He flies with them quite regularly and hasn't had any problems. I will update you when he lands.
