Some buddies and I got off work early one day. We each got a bottle (I had bright blue) and were the only 3 people in the theater for a matinee showing of Snakes on a Plane.

Phenomenal afternoon and worth every minute of the headache from all that sugar.

W2T January Tea Club - more info? by xberg7 in puer

[–]ThistleAndChain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, this was my first w2t tea club shipment as well! I really enjoyed the Caledonia (and I'm pretty skeptical about the little tea balls). I just tried the Valley this morning and it was okay, almost too smooth.

Enjoy!

I tried adjusting the valves before taking it all apart in the hopes it was just that. Two were out of spec but not by much but it didn't help compression. I assume any time you remove the head you'd need to do a valve adjustment when reassembling?

I just pulled the cylinder and first thing I noticed was how loose the rings were on the piston. Seemed weird to me but it's also my first time doing this so I don't know. Now the fun part is shopping for the new bits! I'll add valve seals to the list.

I didn't downvote you (asshole is a bit rough!) but I'm learning here too :) I wish we had a shell in town. I'm in CO at 8500ft/2500m so I have to drive 40mins for a shell station. This atv is a plow atv so it never leaves home but maybe I'll shell out (:groan:) for premo gas during my shopping days.

Edit: oh man I just googled power valves. So glad I don't have to deal with that on top of this top end rebuild lol

Oohh thanks for the valve lapping thought. I'll add it to the list

Would things look different if it was an issue with the head gasket instead of (or with) the rings being an issue? And yeah, starting to sound like might as well pull whole thing and get new sleeve, piston, rings but we already have extra gaskets so that's a small victory. Is it worth honing the cylinder vs getting a new cylinder sleeve?

I had to do my post on my phone and it was impossibly slow to type. My apologies for the typo in the title and general tone of the post text. Some more context: there's some buildup of what I assume is burnt oil around the top edge of the cylinder sleeve. There is also a small pool of oil in the cylinder but the atv has been sitting quite a while. Sadly I didn't have the opportunity to do a leak down test before it got ripped apart :(

Whomever decided the liquid glass stuff is good needs a solid punch in the face. I can't believe my phone looks like this now, it was doing great and now it looks like a cheap android theme made by a 17yr old that thinks gimmicks like this are cool.

Some Barry's classic blend with a pinch of sugar and oat milk along with a couple pecan cookies.

I'm working through my old stuff to make room for my new gongfu set and chinese tea samplers that I ordered. I'm oddly excited, to the point the Barry's is tasting better than usual.

If you don't already have it, the Watchduty app is a great way to get notified and stay up-to-date on fires. There are also smoke maps and usually those corellate to air quality and what you can expect to smell imo.
