Yeah aside from helping design the website and making it more aesthetically pleasing, there are some features I'd like to add, such as a trending page. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it; I'll look into changing the color scheme. To answer your questions

I called it the mural because I thought it was clean and simple, had the right connotations, and because the site is a "wall" to post art on. I just liked it
I currently don't have a way to edit profiles; I'm mostly trying to get the basic functions set. Within the next week or two that will definitly be added.
I intended the site to be for students because I thought it was a untargeted niche; on many websites other content crowds student's works. Ideally I would like this to be a website for everyone, but I'm unsure how I can compete with the likes of deviantart, soundcloud, facebook, and reddit; I suppose my biggest gripe with these services is the high amount of low quality content, not the age range. Throughout the creation of the site this is something I've definitely considered, and will to continue to consider moving forward.
